I'd rather just keep White. Bruins pick is 27-31, and I'm not a fan of Danton Heinen at all. I'd rather bet on continued growth from Rat Rink.

If that was going to be a higher first round pick then sure but it’s going to be at the bottom end so I’ll keep White

Detroit do need a 2C, but we can pick up a stopgap as a cap-dump, Turris or Stepan for example. Henrique with retention does have actual value, to a different team.

You're both crazy! Take this offer and run. White could amount to something and be more than a 3rd or 4th liner, but I'd rather open up the spot for better prospects. Sell high on White with this, especially when this is a great draft year. You're still likely to land a good player, probably better than White. Ottawa totally accepts.

It’s a gamble, will that pick produce a better player than White? I’m guessing no. White still has room to grow. The other parts of the trade are filler

Trading a 23 year old middle six player at this point is not a move that makes any sense to me, unless you're doing it to make an immediate improvement in the form of a higher skill top 6 forward or a top 4 D. White isn't a star, but he's a solid player, he's already here, and he's still got room to continue to improve. If you're going to trade a guy like that, you may as well just shutter the team, because what's even the point. The rebuild has to stop somewhere.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see White becoming more than a 3rd line guy. I never liked him as a pick and I was disappointed when he was signed to that 6 year deal. Mark Stone was the reason he did so well. He had a terrible season, but his value is still somewhat high as you can see from the trade offer. It has been a terrible trend where the Sens hang onto players for too long and their value is essentially 0. I say take this offer and run because the prospect they get in the 20's with the Boston 1st could turn into a very good player. At worst, you could use this pick and the NYI pick to move to the 10-12 range and get someone even better. This rebuild is still early. We're looking at 2022-23 until we're even thinking about the playoffs.

White had a disappointing season for sure, but he was far from terrible. A drop off after Stone left was expected, but he got better as the season went on, and was really getting hot when the shutdown happened.

The Sens are never going to get anywhere by trading all their players. Picks are great, but if they're never going to play for you, what's the point?
