Don't think SJ would want to move their C but this a deal we can't pass on.

Nope. Still rebuilding and Couture's contract scares me a bit.

Feel like this deal leans towards NYR but I wasn't sure what they should add. Maybe a 2nd?

Not sure it does bc coutures 31 and signed till he’s 38 at 8 mil cap and didn’t have a good season at all so it’s a real risky move for us

Well they are getting Strome and Georgiev so I call fair. Kreider and Couture are in the same boat regarding possible decline in production, regression, contracts, age, etc.

Strome isn't really worth anything. I'm sure they'd rather a 1st or a 2nd than him. I just took Strome to help NYR out with their cap.

For all we know Strome could be getting 7M from arbitration where they look at the points more than anything else.

Obviously Georgiev is a big piece that SJS need and is the main reason SJS would consider this trade.

Strome won't sniff anything past $5M. NYR would non-qualify him.

See what I mean though. The only real incentive for SJS is Georgiev and I think a bit more needs to be added.

Simply would look elsewhere at that point tho. Couture is more expensive and money is paramount for us.

any trade involving Strome should be a deal breaker.

IMO, I don't get why NYR would take this tbh. I kind of think Kreider for Couture 1for1 is already pretty fair. Couture hs a worse contract and is older but maybe there's something I'm missing.
As for Strome, what am I missing here exactly? How is a 59 point/70 game player not a big chunk of this trade? Sure he's had a couple bad years before but there is no way you can call him irrelevant or wtv...
And then there's Georgiev. Who is a pretty reliable backup. Perhaps the next Halak.
I don't know, I think this is a horrible trade for NYR.

His numbers are hyper inflated playing next to Panarin, and he is still going to get a stupid contract.

Sharks are perfectly fine keeping Mr. Playoffs.

Not to be mean but:
1. You need to make the playoffs to get to use a "Mr. Playoffs"
2. Hard to give that title to someone who has zero cup rings.

1. That's the easy part.
2. Maybe you should sign Jordan Nolan, I hear he has cups. Must be a superstar.

Yeah I don't think either team takes this trade honestly.

Also don't @ me Kreider's contract is nearly just as bad as Couture's if not worse, except obviously Kreider is younger. And no real interest in Strome from SJ anymore. We can't afford him and, his new contract will inevitably be an overpay.
