Maybe for Connor it would be easier to get Domi & young Fleury RHD + good 2nd #46.
You would get a better 2C and a good NHL ready RHD.
To replace Pulock you can sign Brodie at a cheaper cost than Pulock...like 5,5M for 5years.
Wheeler would play on the second line where he fits better... and you will have enough money to even add one of Tiffoli, Dandonov to complete your top6
Thanks for the feedback!
Domi will cost more then Wennberg's salary is and Fleury isn't a top pairing RHD like Pulock is though.
I figure Wennberg could use a change of scenery, looks not bad in the playoffs and could maybe work well with Laine and Ehlers, it is risky I know.
Not sure how much of the Jets playin against Calgary you watched but it was painfully evident that their defense is too small and needs a big top pair RHD to play with Morrissey which is why I traded for Pulock.
Winnipeg doesn't attract free agents or at least ones with more demand for their services so guys like Dadonov, Brodie and Toffoli aren't signing with the Jets when they have other options therefore I don't think that suggestion is realistic, I know this is all fantasty land speculation on this site but I try to keep my posts realistic.. Lol.. Which is also why I traded for a center with term and Pulock and Anderson are RFA'S so they're controlled, Pulock is from Manitoba so maybe he'd sign long term with the Jets, pressure from his folks so they can come watch him play.. ha!
The free agents I signed seem like realistic possibilities of players that'd sign in Winnipeg, don't think they'll have a ton of teams throwing money or term at them.
Wheeler looks like the decline has set in and the Jets have gotten almost zero offense from its 3rd line in years, some softer match ups and less minutes would probably help him last in his mid to late 30's, the hope is he could get that 3rd line producing at what a 3rd line should on average and he'd still be on the first powerplay unit. If it wasn't working some shuffling around could be done with Wheeler, Laine and Anderson to find a better fit for all three lines, he's likely staying on the top line though, can't see Maurice ever moving him off it unless they're hit with some major injuries and line changes occur.
