Tampa needs to make moves

Created by: Brunobell
Team: 2020-21 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 18, 2020
Published: Aug. 18, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Smith, Jumbo Joe, Foote, Petan, Montembault are placeholders for cheap options. Not necessarily the guy for the slot. This roster majorly hangs in the balance of Cirelli and Sergachev taking really cheap 2-year bridge deals. This all assumes that the NTC/NMC guys do not want to leave.

All those moves and team friendly deals... and you still only have 19 roster players, 5 defensemen, and 144k cap space. You gotta try harder than that, my friend!

Ya'll gotta have serious dirt on Cirelli and Sergachev to think they'll take 2.5mil... you know they are getting offer sheeted in a heart beat if that's what they're being offered

Thats a lot for the Leafs to give up, Tampa isnt trading Coleman on that contract considering he can play in their top 6

Those Cirelli and Sergachev deals arent cheap bridges, those are legit highway robbery deals.
Why would either of them except half of the low end of their market value? Especially with Gourde sticking around making 5+mil?
The problem should be addressed moving out bad money contracts, not asking your players to accept outrageous underpaid contracts.

Wings decline... Smith valuable kid & not taking a cap hit to help tbl w/o a sweetener draft pick for doing so ...so we keep our kids & take your 1st rd picks or no deal ..enjoy ur cap restrictions

You're not wrong. The point of me making this was to show that if none of the NTC/NMC waive their clause, they have to trade basically everyone or move someone like McDonough AND get Cirelli and Serg on ridiculously cheap deals.

Wings decline as Smith is a fan favorite with all he’s overcome and way he plays the game. I wouldn’t mind seeing if any of the NTC/NMC guys would waive for their former GM though. I don’t know how the Wing poster above me thinks he’s going to get a first for 1.8M player....

Yeah, Tampa definitely has their hands full this offseason. Even if the cap went up, they'd still be in trouble. And then next year they'll lose someone in the expansion draft! They really gotta go all in these playoffs, it'll be a bit of a decline from here on, I think

He forgot to sign Vitto Corleone from the Godfather as a contract negotiator to make offers they cannot refuse

I can't see Detroit giving up Smith to rent Paquette for a season.
