Your idea. Please propose another trade you think works, please don't just comment with "this doesn't make sense" or "these trades are awful".
Please work under the assumption both teams want to get a Turris deal done, even if you don't think they do.

From a Detroit perspective the best thing to do is resign everyone that they want to resign ASAP, so that they will have a set amount of cap space and can start selling that asset to the various people that are willing to pay for it in picks and prospects, and push for as much as they can get. A Turris deal is hard, because his contract is so long. If they take 1 year contracts they can make similar deals next summer, if they take long term deals they cannot.

Are the RFA signings random? I like Mantha more than most, but 7 over 7 seems high. First glance I think the offer Nielsen is good and well reasoned with the talk about buy-out, but yeah, despite your parameters that the assumption is both teams want this, does Detroit plan to remain awful for so long that they can just take those cap blackholes for that many years? At least with Erikson it's only 2 years.

The preds will not give up Tomasino. I agree they want to get rid of the Turris deal but not at the expense of their top prospect. I would say Nashville trades turris and their 2nd in 2021, for 2 picks in later drafts. couple of 2nd rounds or 3rd rounds.

Poile might have to eat some salary on the Turris deal to make any trade work.
