Fair value for Leddy imo, him and Poolman would be good together

Ive thought about the Ekblad for Laine deal. Tough to say if it would ever happen. Personally as a jets fan I would do it in a heartbeat. FLA may want more, but overall Ekblad is more valuable

Moving up a couple spots could be the difference between landing the center the Jets need or getting a dman they already have or another winger that they already have, this isn't bad for the Jets at all imo, I like Pionk but he's small and it really showed in the playin against Calgary.

Problem with it from Bufs perspective is they need that center just as much if not more.

From my perspective, Buffalo gets a more defensively responsible dman that puts up points of the same age. They move down 2 spots in the draft.

Winnipeg takes a risk on Risto, hoping his size fits their system well and can rebound to show more defensive responsibility. Jets move up 2 spots in the draft to get one of their ideal center targets. Leapfrogging Minnesota will likely be necessary to land a center that they need.

Granlund is one of the more interesting UFA's to me, really wonder what he's looking at in both $$ and term, is he looking at a big paycut? Really think he'll rebound if he gets out of Nashville, something doesn't seem right there for a lot of guys, something is wrong when that many players either don't work out or find success elsewhere.

I hear that but you already have Middlestadt and Cozens, the Jets best centre prospect looks like a 3C at best and Maurice hates Roslovic.

Mitts is projecting at wing at this point, and while Cozens looks great, easier to move to wing from center then the other way. Look at who the Sabres have drafted as centers since 2012 and understand the need for that center. The fact that none panned out is why they are where they are.

You're right and so is Missthewhalers. I liked Pionk's game this year and he has one year left at 3 and is an RFA after that, where as RIsto has two years at 5.4 before becoming a UFA. So that would be my biggest concern. THat's why I said it was a lateral move as much as talent goes, but for sure...if the jets can move up and target a guy they need/want then do it

Yes they would. Good trade for both teams. WPG doesn't give up a 2nd but gets a top-4 LHD. NYI gains full cap space.

Isn't Cozens a center?

Honestly you could say the same about the Jets center drafting since 2012, I mean unless you're impressed by Lowry and Copp which I'm very much not then it's Scheifele which was in 2011, Roslovic in 2015 but Maurice doesn't like him, uses him at center in a pinch but primarily plays him on the wing and other then that it's David Gustafsson who was a late 2nd round pick in 2018 and he's the guy I was saying that looks like a 3C at best.

For all I hear about the Jets "drafting and developing" they really haven't done too well at drafting the most important position in hockey.

I know the Sabres need a center, it's debatable which of Winnipeg or Buffalo needs one more though.

Yes Cozens is. But no thing is for sure to pan out. I’d rather not put all the eggs in one basket like Cozens for the future (although I think he’s gonna be very good) just to “upgrade” from Risto to Poink. Which in itself is debatable.

Top pair RHD that are signed long term are more valuable than wingers. The Jets would have to add.

Yes Winnioeg is lacking that C as well but they have not committed the same amount of assets to acquiring Center as Buffalo. In 2012 Buffalo drafted Girgorenko 12th and Girgensons 14th o/a. 2013 Connor Hurley 38th o/a. 2014 Sam Reinhart 2nd o/a. 2015 Jack Eichel 2nd o/a. 2016 Rasmus Asplund 33rd o/a. 2017 Casey Middlestadt 8 o/a and Marcus Davidsson 37 o/a. 2019 Dylan Cozens 7 o/a. Thats 10 top 40 picks on Centers. One Hit Eichel, one hit as a winger in Reinhart and the rest are too be determined or bottom 6 players.

What do you think of the jets trying to get Johansen out of Nashville?

Assuming we can make his contract work, I think he would find great success in Winnipeg. I always thought he was a higher end 2C, kind of like a Braden Schenn. The biggest issue would be acquisition cost from a huge central division rival. I do not see them moving Johansen for anything short of an overpay.

Agreed. Nashville is in a tough spot with Johansen, Duchene and Turris all making a lot of money for the foreseeable future.

I'm all for it depending on the acquisition cost obviously, think he'd flourish in Winnipeg and Johansen centering the 2nd line could give the Scheifele line the challenge it needs, is his contract going to get in the way of signing Laine though, that'd be the biggest concern for me.
