Not sure I like the Chicago trade for Subban just to send him to the minors but I love the NJ trade... Zaitsev for Subban makes sense for both teams in my opinion

Rangers deal works for us. Not sure Smith waives, but he can play a lot of PK and minutes with this core, so maybe he does and gets flipped.

Haha. Really, though? You do realize that Zaitsev is $18M over four years and Subban is $16M over two years (actual salary). I mean you could probably get rid of him at the 2022 trade deadline if you eat half his salary and throw in a mid round pick.
