Replace Drouin and Poehling with Romanov.

Not close. Montreal doesn't have the assets to do it. Maybe if they hadn't beaten PIT it'd have been a remote possibility, but now no way

It would have to start with Suzuki. If that's a deal breaker for you guys, then no Alexis Lafreniere.

thats a nasty line, but Suzuki is young and already good two way. He's exactly what we need in NY. So if the Habs put him up for offer and include some other good pieces, I honestly wouldn't even be sad about losing Laf

drouin isn't really the most enticing. Would Romonav be up for sale?

You wouldn’t get suzuki, Romanov AND 2 1sts. That’s just stupid for MTL

i wasn't saying that they'd have to put both firsts in the deal, just that drouin isn't as attractive to us as Romanov. And also, any team that is trading up for #1 will have to overpay significantly, because even if it matches in value, it still doesn't give us a reason to move a franchise winger.

I understand it would have to be an ovwrpay, that’s why you wouldnt get those two players plus two 1sts

lmao we have no interest in moving laf to begin with. if a team comes caling and seems really interested, especially a team in the conference, we would have all the bargaining power and the other team (montreal in this case) would have no leverage. If Gorton wants all that, that's what he'll demand, and it would just be up to how much Bergevin wants Lafreniere.

and that's totally fine, because it's a win-win. We either get pieces that will combine for value than Laf, or we get Laf himself, who's a stud
