Description
Crazy idea, saw the trade on ig, and was curious about how pittsburgh could possibly make it work.

PoUliN hAs a 75% cHaNcE oF MakINg OpENinG NigHT, hoepfully lol, if not Simon will take his spot

Nylander will play left wall on Pens powerplay (in Kessels spot). This makes Pens Top 6 and powerplay gross.

I think McCann can become a solid 3rd line centre. He shows flashes of greatness. He could also play on the top line with Sid and Guentz and make Nylander play 3C.

If Pittsburgh could get Petry and a guy like shatt, we will beable to be okay without Letang (we did win a cup without him in 2017 sooo)

I dont think the Toronto trade is fair but idk what picks to add, I didn't come up w the trade, just was interested by it

definitely an interesting idea, not 100% sold on if Letang is what the Leafs need, or if they'd be willing to part with Nylander at all. More of a shutdown guy is what the leafs need imo, but Letang is a bonafide top pair RD, so they certainly have to listen. His age is probably going to be too much of a deterrent for the leafs in the end.

he has played very well but i can only see 1 of those prospects coming our way, either half retained or with an extension

As much as I like letang I wonder if they hunt a younger guy. Letang would be a good voice in the room for Toronto though. A vet whos been through all the wars he has other value besides his play. Bjud I'll give ya a 5th for just because we cant make it easy. I think nashville declines. The value is probably fair just not sure thats what theyre looking for.

I can't see any Petry trades since Bergevin doesn't want to trade him

Absolutely not. He’s a pending UFA.

Again, expect a First round pick + a B prospect for him

Bean + 2020 1st got turned down, I expect more A prospect + 1st IF a team overpay, which no team would do
Petry will remains a Habs

Habs reject.

Value isn't close for me. We don't have anyone to replace Petry and there's virtually 0 chance we get a player of similar importance with that pick.

Where did you see Bean+A first? Never heard that rumour. If that trade actually got turned down, then Petry will remain a Hab because that’s an excellent return

Maybe if Letang was 10 years younger, he doesnt have that much value anymore

Pierre LeBrun report it in French, Bergevin really dont want to trade Jeff Petry and 2 weeks ago he said Petry will be extended before the start of the 2020-2021 season

You truly don't seem to understand cap space is a primo asset right now and nobody taking Bjugstad unless you're paying them to do so. It'd be terrible cap management, that space could be much better leveraged than paying for a replacement level player making 4M.

Petry only has one year. You aren't getting all that for him.

We will get a massive overpay or he'll stay, easy to understand. He is not to trade, like Matthews, McDavid, MacKinnon, GM doesn't want to trade some players they have and Petry is one of them with Weber and Price

what a horrible take. Mutliple teams need help at 3C. Bjugstad is in a contract year. If there is one year a player is going all out on it's the year he's trying to get more money.
It's also a 1 year deal and if he's hurt again it all goes on LTIR which is covered by insurance.
And if it's a bottom feeder team, they will be able to flip him if he plays well.

Someone is taking a chance on that, and giving up little to do so. The penguins won't pay anything for that, at all.

If Nashville was going to take him, they wouldn't give up a 2nd. That's my feeling on that. It would be more of a PK situation. He'd move, the penguins wouldn't get much back other than cap relief. Which we would gladly take.

Lol what? Petry is a good player. Like the ideal second pairing defenseman...but putting him in the same sentence as Matthews, McDavid, and MacKinnon who are basically untouchable is hilariously absurd. Stop.
