Those first two trades are awful for the leafs. The minny trade might be close to value but that won’t pry their first free.

An Andersen (he wasn't anything special last year) rental, a waiver fodder FWD, and 50oa does not get a top-10 pick.

Yes, because teams give up 9th overall picks in incredibly deep drafts for lateral move more expensive pending UFA goalies all the time.

Guerin has a good laugh and hangs up. Plenty of UFA goalies available, plus AHL goalie of the year in their pipeline. No reason to give up anything for a goalie.

You said the value might be close. I'm saying you're on drugs if you think it is. Lehner with retained salary got a 2nd (that any sane person would have projected to be extremely late) and a fringe goalie at the deadline when prices are higher than in the offseason and Andersen absolutely is not Lehner and if he was, the Leafs shouldn't trade him. Andersen is probably worth a 3rd this offseason, especially given the available UFAs and in Minnesota's case, the options available that don't cost them draft picks. Goalies don't have anywhere near the trade value people think because they're so fluky.

Leafs retained not Chicago and they only charged a 5th. The deal was Subban a prospect and a 2nd for half a season of Lehner (without retention)

In this deal includes Bracco and a 2nd along with Andersen for a first. I also agreed it was too much. Just said it “might be close” but not close enough and minny would certainly decline.

Compared to nylander for foudy and Anderson.... it was much closer lol.
