Avs maybe agree if you take out the picks but that Kreider contract is essentially negative value already

Wrong. He's on an Evander Kane like deal. Teams will give more than a bottom pairing d-man and a 3rd liner for him

Lmao. You try to upgrade the D and you trade the bets defensive Dman they have in Trouba. So dumb. Stop trying to trade him! He had a great second half!

Lol Fox torches him at defending. Lindgren is also very underrated at that

Except Kane is better and his deal expires two years sooner and they're the same age

Except Kreids has less AAV and brings more overall than Kane.

I agree when people say the last year of Kreids' deal is pretty bad but besides that the deal looks very god

COL declines unless there is retention on Kreider deal.
Wayy too many pieces to give up for a slighty above average top 6F making top top dollar

MTL declines. We shouldn’t want anything to do with a player like Lias and Mete is underrated af. Our fans undervalue him immensely.

$6.5M AAV isn’t an over pay, but the 7 years is an over pay. Also, I’m taking Trouba all day over ADA defensively. Fox is the top RHD. Lindy Ruff is gone now. Trouba played well against CAR even though they were swept. Ruff is no longer here to hold the D back. Just my opinion.

I don’t watch the Oilers but I was reading somewhere that Fox while having a good rookie year, it wasn’t all it seemed because he didn’t take top match ups and ozs% was 55. Is that accurate?

i'm not sure I understand the hatred toward Trouba. Him and Fox as the 1RD and 2 RD will be solid.
i feel like some of Trouba's struggles were due to not having a consistent top 4 partner and Ruff's systems (maybe even the new city new team factor to a lesser extent).
next year will tell us the truth, but if Gorton can go out and find him a top 4 LD, then the Fox/Lindgren and Trouba/XXX pairing will be just what they need.

i know ADA is flashy, and I actually like him a lot, but he is expendable in my opinion. move him for a LD or a 2C and let's get this thing moving.

I dont think the problem is who is able to defend on the team. Fox currently looks to hold down the top pair for the Rangers so that automatically puts Trouba on the second pair. Than you have Nils Lundkvist who looks like he can already play in the NHL and has a pretty high ceiling. So if you keep Trouba here he has the potential to be the most expensive 3rd pair defenseman. Id rather keep DeAngelo and if I have to move him in a couple years if Lundkvist is ready. I wouldn't be able to do that with Trouba because he would have a NMC.

Much rather keep our picks than take a risk on Strome. Especially at that price

Actually that's a poor choice.

-he's a right hand shot center... plugs 2 holes there
-he makes good passes all the time, would be good for one of Kaprizov/Fiala/Parise or a combination of the above
-he works hard, which would make him a great fit in MIN, because you're a hardworking team

Right, his offensive zone starts is 55%.

However from someone who has watched 9/10 NYR games this season he is a beast at everything and we have just seen the surface of his potential. It isn't an exaggeration at all to say that he's in the same category as Makar, Hughes, Dahlin and Heiskanen, among others

It's not that I don't think the idea of a trade for should be explored, it's that I don't think it's wise to deplete our 2nd rounders for a guy who Idk if I can trust to hit 40 points in Minnesota when other inquiries can be made. He'll also want a raise (4.5M seem realistic?) Which only adds to the risk. And, I'm not sure about this but isn't this the last year he could be an RFA?

Like I would legitimately struggle to offer up any pick higher than a 3rd. And so unsurety throws me off the deal completely. And I get that that offer is probably a slap in the face, but I wouldn't want to bring in a middle 6 player expecting a top 6 impact

I find it funny when I hear people saying that he can't be trusted with 40 pts yet he put up 35 pts in 17-18... «gotcha», you'll say... not really since JP and Jujar Khaira played with him for a good chunk of the season. Last year with us he was slightly higher than 0,5 PPG. So basically he has established himself as a money in the bank 40-45 pts with the potential of going to 50-55.

-as for the money, something between 4,5 and 4,7 mil would make sense for him
-also he IS worth a bunch of 2nds and a 4th. Goodrow along with a 3rd was worth a 1st this year. Coleman was worth Foote and a 1st. So teams WILL play for a guy like Strome, and I think he'd be a perfect fit in MIN.
