Imo I like this trade. Roslovic isn’t going to get a fair shot here in wpg. Might as well help him out and move him.

That’s who the jets would be trading up for.

Why would they take on a cap dump, lose a prospect, move down 2 spots for a 30 point RW though?

There's no enticement there to trade down 2 spots and give up our 2nd best forward prospect... Only way I'd see us moving down to Winnipeg's 10th is if you guys take on cap from us and return us a top 6 winger and a prospect

Perreault is still a serviceable winger and only has 1 yr left on contract so its not as much as a cap dump as many people think, also sabers have very few wingers under contact for next year

I think you would need to take Pekar and Perrault out of the deal. Then wait until the Sabres are on the board. If there is not 1 player that have rated much higher than the rest then they make the deal. If there is then they pass and make their pick at 8

They are mostly RFA’s Reinhart, Olofsson, Kahun.

IMO this is a fair trade depending on who Buff covets at 8 and can be available at 10. I do think getting 2 NHL ready players might benefit the sabers a bit in letting the young talent mature and lets face it they not cup contenders yet

this trade was because you get 2 that can play right now and still draft in the top 10 and allows Adams a chance to evaluate the prospects and not having to rush a player to the NHL like they did with Mittelstadt and who knows maybe actually make the playoffs

No interest in playing Roslovic at 2C or 3C here as there wasn't in Winnipeg where they also need center depth. Roslovic would slot into 3rd RW in Buffalo. Perreault would be 4th line lw and we can find similar UFA at around 1 million and use the extra cap to help our roster elsewhere.

I don't see how allocating 4 million to a 4th line winger and adding a 25 point winger makes the Sabres a better team

Noone on here is a coach or a gm. Not sure what the point of the comment is. That would mean you feel your opinions aren't valid either because you are not a coach or a gm.

Roslovic may be a 30 point winger right now, but he's young, is a C by trade and has been buried in Winnipeg. THis deal is based on potential.
Personally, I don't do it if Im the jets. Too much to give up for 2 spots. It's funny that every year people think the draft should go a certain way, but it never really does. Teams will select guys that were projected much later and deals will be made. I don't think Chevvy is in the business of just giving up 23 year old former first rounders

I feel like he’s in the same situation as Sam Reinhart of they viewed him as a center he would be playing center.
