I know this isn't realistic. MacKinnon has the best contract in the cap era and there is nothing that could sway the Avs to move on him, but why not go big. There is 11 million to fix the rest. Go to work. Who would you sign on the wings?

MacKinnon on the Oilers wouldn't be in the conversation for top 3 rn. McDavid on the Avs by Rantanen and Landeskog is the best player since Mario Lemieux

McDavid's 3 worst seasons: 12.4 WAR

Got a ways to go before he hits McDavid's floor
And btw, WAR includes both offense and defense

Everyone thinks McDavid was awful in the playoffs, which is untrue. He had 9 points in 4 games, while putting up the same defensive numbers as MacK. It's not McDavid's fault that the Oilers sucked.

I think the list of things MacKinnon does that McDavid doesn’t is longer than the list of things McDavid does that MacKinnon doesn’t.

I think MacKinnons size and strength, ability to play physical and lay a hit is a whole dimension that McDavid is missing.

McDavid is better but McKinnon is more valuable (aka contract)
