canes don't trade top pair RD locked in at 4 and change for several years for a $2-3M overpaid passing winger. they won't trade pesce for marner straight up. no one wants to trade value assets for that contract.

You know that's Brett Pesce and not Cale Makar right? You're tripping if u honestly believe the Canes wouldn't trade him for Marner 1for1. Especially considering that Marner's contract is like almost 50% paid. Marner's contract isn't great but him being overpaid by 1.5million isnt gonna completely drastically change his value. Some of yall have forgotten how good he actually is

Necas isn’t a goal scorer, he is playmaker.

Necas wouldn’t have a strong rookie year, Rod Brind’Amour protects rookies. Svech played a lot of 3rd / 4th line minutes. While im not expecting Svech like growth in his points, Necas should have a good growth in year 2. Will really help if we get a 2LW that will score.

In the end, Canes arent takin Marner because the have Hamilton and Svech extensions.

If Canes are smart with their money (some arguments there), we would not get Marner because we cannot afford him.
