Would you throw Hamilton into Muzzin's spot?

No, position matters with Canada's depth

I see you're a Leafs fan, but I gotta agree with the others here: Chabot and Hamilton have to be in. I'd have Ekblad as the 7th D. If this is North American ice, I'm leaving Muzzin on the team; if it's international ice, I'm leaving Rielly on the team.
I'd have Point over Konecny. I don't think Tavares earns a spot -- I just don't see him being as valuable as a winger with his skating, I'd have Barzal in.
For the 13th forward, I'd have Toews. I know people like to diss him for the hype he got early in the 2010s. But, he had an excellent season. He's still a great two-way forward, a face-off specialist, and most importantly to IIHF rules; the guy you want for winning in a shootout.

Canada would look to play centres at wing, especially so if they have speed.
Position matters for the D. For international play, Canada is at its best when it gets his system going, i.e. rolling 4 lines and 3 pairs. That's always been the best way to make use of their depth, perfect positioning and everyone on their forehand, never in a risky position for turnovers, and MOST IMPORTANTLY securing the boards; Canada usually has the advantage with the forecheck and wit the grinding game

so now you are back pedaling, playing their natural position doesnt matter?
I still stand by my original comment, id rather have a superior player playing on their off hand then Muzzin

I could probably put together two full d ends for Canada without Muzzin in either one

Looking at it now I might be able to find 20 Canadian D that are better

How am I back peddling? That's exactly what I'm saying -- playing their natural position matters (a plethora centres are a proven recipe for success). All the centres at wing here are still on their forehand.
I'd rather have a player on their strong side, I don't think it's egregious to have Muzzin in. This isn't NHL 20, handedness matters

Even if you take out the 5 you dont think are better theres still 17. Thats basically 3 teams worth of D before you get ot Muzzin, he can lead Team Canada 4th squad
