I really don’t think we do, unless I’m missing something we’re moving up
3 spots and giving the world.

If Strome Nylander and Caggiula are your world, that's a pretty sad world.

My point, is that we are giving up so much off our roster for not much in return.

IKR it seems like a pretty terrible return by any metric.

McCabe is a cheaper LD than De Haan and Maatta and better than both, Reimer is on a cheaper contract than Crawford would be with one year left, and they move up in the draft. I'm taking that all day, McCabe is a top 4 D and would really add toughness to the backend.

Nylander, Strome, 17th just to move up to 13th? That is down right *****ded for Chicago to do.

Better than Maatta for sure, De Haan is debatable but he's certainly a better skater and more physical. This fills two huge holes for next season without making a dent in their cap hit.

Canes don’t do this.

We give pesce, Fleury, Reimer, and 13OA for a 4th liner, an unproven goalie, a cap dump, Nylander who may be a 3rd liner next year and we get to move up 5 spots with a 3rd and distant 2nd. Outside of the 8th OA nothing moves the needle for Pesce, Fleury, or the 13OA.

This is grossly favored for Buffalo and Canes get the shaft.

No way Canes do that. Pesce is signed long term around $4 mil and the sum of pieces to move up a couple places in the draft isn’t worth it.

The Hawks aren't winning anything next year, they're developing more and going to hopefully start relying on young guys to play meaningful minutes. McCabe is a UFA next year and the Hawks probably wouldn't re-sign him. They're not winning a cup next year, so no point in paying to acquire him. Crawford is a UFA, so he could very well come back on a cheaper contract than Reimer, not to mention the fact that he's way better than Reimer. Sure moving up in the draft is nice, but four spots for Strome, Nylander, and Caggiula? Not even close to worth it.

Better than Maatta for sure, but de Haan debatable? I think most Hawks fans would tell you that Maatta's better than de Haan, myself included. Really not helping your case.

Can the Canes and Chicago cut Buffalo out? What would it take to get that package to Carolina?

No he is not better than either of them. Worse puck handler, worse possession, contributes less on offense while being worse defensively.

But muh hits. The reason why he has more hits is because other teams always have the puck when he is on the ice..

This is an easy no from Carolina. Losing Reimer, Pesce and Fleury effectively to move up 5 spots is not worth it. The only target Carolina will have is Askarov, and he'll likely be there at 13.
