Maybe. But no Samsonov hurt this team. They're defense is worse than the Pens. They are the Penguins from 2018-19.

Holtby was still on the books this year anyway and was getting played with or without Samsonov

Fehervary was one of the best defenseman we had during the playoffs and he’s not playing.issue is TR doesn’t know what he’s doing. Caps don’t have a game plan or a functional breakout

Did you watch the Islanders-Penguins Series from 2019? This was the exact series all over again. Caps are old and slow like the Pens. both defenses are bad. Islanders play that trap style and use all four lines.

Did you watch Isles-Pens in 2019? This was the exact same series. Isles use all four lines. They play the trap. They are a frustrating team to play.
