Yeah, I wouldn't figure they would. I got tired of trying out stuff and just said screw it, it looks good.
How far off do you think it is though? Is there some tweaking that could get it done? I'm basically looking to move Wennberg + a D man for goal scoring help.

Savard is a good piece but he's a rental. At TDL he could get a 1st if CBJ wasn't in the mix.
Wennberg the contract is an issue. I know there is talent there, but there is a whole lot of 0 consistency and him really not putting the pieces together.
A change could help, but no team is trading for a change value, they are trading for what is.
Carlsson never really made the jump. Part of that might be due to depth in CBJ, but it is what it is. If there was value there they should have moved on it sooner.
There isn't enough there on Bemstrom to put a value there. So I don't think he'll hold much value.

To get a guy like Ehlers you are probably talking about 2 1sts and a decent player/prospect back.
If Savard had term on him it would be a different story. But he doesn't.
I'd say you'd be looking at roughly Savard and a 1st without them taking back the risk of Wennberg.

I appreciate the input. As much as I love Ehlers, dropping Wennberg's cap to allow the team leeway to resign RFAs is one of the main goals. Maybe it'd be a better idea to just try Savard for Roslavic + a pick and then move Wennberg in a separate deal to a bad team that might be willing to take a chance on him for a 3rd or something along those lines.

I think if CBJ wants to drop Wennberg then a separate trade out or a buyout would be needed.
His buyout cost is 1/3 of what is left, and the total cap hit is 4 million over 6 years. It's not bad at all.
I would think they could move him though in a separate deal. Just don't expect a huge return.

Yeah, a buyout probably wouldn't be a bad idea. I just absolutely hate having dead cap. I don't expect too much for him if they are able to move him, just a mid round pick or something. It'd have to be a team with tons of space to spare that it wouldn't hurt to have on the books for a few years if they don't get anything from him. Idk if 25 might be a bit too old for Ottawa to take a shot there. Would be a basically no risk move for them.

I feel like Hoffman could be a great addition to this roster. Just cause I can’t see Winnipeg doing that deal.

Yeah, I was definitely biting off a bit too much with that deal. The issue with Hoffman is that the team doesn't have the space. After putting Dubi on LTIR, they have 11 million to spend between Dubois, Gavrikov, and should they choose to, Anderson. I'm 95% sure they're already gonna have to make a trade (likely Wennberg or one of the non top pairing D men) to have room for Anderson who I think they'd be dumb to let walk if he's healthy. Don't get me wrong, I think he'd be a great addition, I just don't know how they can afford to pay him while retaining RFAs.
