the only thing the Ducks would exec consider giving up the 3rd for (in a 1 for 1 scenario) is Dermott and MAYBE Kerfoot... and you want Manson and Comtois too lmfao

Wow... that is a whole lot of nothing for Manson and Comtois. Why would ANA ever move Comtois?

The most outrageous part of this ACGM is Gauthier's raise

It's so really not, though.

Ah yes the career AHLer, aka the most valuable prospect in the league tears of joy I've been watching him since Kitchener and never thought he had what it takes ahah

A Parayko-for-Nylander trade:
1 - puts Justin Faulk at the top of the depth chart as the top-pair, shutdown RHD
2 - puts David Perron too low on the depth chart as the 3rd line RW
3 - doesn't save the Blues any cap space
4 - gets published on CF every day, regardless of the fans of 30 teams turning it down
5 - isn't gonna happen

Would be interesting to see the most popular targets of Leafs ACGM since March and over the last couple years in total.

Parayko is definitely flavour of the month lately, and was super popular at the start of last season when Blues were stumbling, and really since he broke out a few years back.
Pesce & Manson have been steady for years now.
Severson had a good run since March.

Yeah the Parayko one comes in waves tears of joy I try not to be an a-hole about it but I just don't see it happening - mostly due to team needs but also because of the rarity of a player like Parayko. I've always thought that Pesce or Pulock were the best targets if the Leafs move Nylander, but the fans of those teams turn those proposals down too. Carolina has tons of defensemen, and NYI has Dobson working his way into a big role, but can't blame them for wanting to keep them around I guess.

Yeah, when both teams have cap issues to deal with it makes a deal that much harder. Only way STL even considers moving Parayko IMO is if they can re-sign Piet. But acquiring Nylander only makes that more difficult for STL.

99.9999% chance it doesn't happen, but one slightly overlooked thing is Nylander now prefers LW, so roster wise it's a touch more doable.

I've settled on C.Murphy or A. Larsson as most likely targets for Leafs, they don't need a saviour, just a half decent dman to pair with Rielly that makes around $4M or less. Rielly's best regular D partner over last 5 years has been Hainsey, so if they can give him a decent No. 4 dman, it'll make for a decent pairing.

Yep, pretty much what I was saying in another thread just now. Don't worry about landing a young star defenseman, just get the right guy to pair with Rielly who can eat minutes and play mistake-free defensive hockey. I like Manson the most; also the guys you mentioned, and guys like Demers, Hjalmarsson or DeMelo. And keep Nylander.
