Rangers have a logjam on LW and Shestyorkin in their goalie for the future. They also need a LD. Oilers need winger depth. Could this work?

Rangers would accept, but only iff there was no salary retention. Maybe add a pick instead or add another insignificant piece to make money work.

If I’m dubas, I pass. We could get much better defencemen for the cost of Kapanen. I’d give Johnsson for one year of Larson but nothing more.

I think Buchnevich would be a much better and more realistic target for the Oilers in that Rangers trade.
