4. Toronto gets additional cap space to go after a Defenceman

Leafs decline - Gaudreau walks in 2 years when Leafs won't be able to afford both him and Rielly.

also - 3 guys on the 2nd line the are major puckhounds, and not so much on that first line. May want to mix that up a bit.

Please explain your reasoning as to why COL needs to re-acquire a player they dumped last summer.

I don't think so. Just remove Valimaki and Liljgren from the trade. No real purpose for either team in that swap and the trade is still fair
