I disagree. I wouldn't give up our 2nd rounder this year for Murray, we don't need any more bodies at goaltender, the expansion draft coming up and Murray coming off of a down year.

I'd also much prefer to not give up as much as a 4th for Bjugstad without a retain.

I think you should offer Murray to another team with more of a need for him and more of what you want. I believe you said you would like to trade for a potential top 6 RSW. I think a trade with Edmonton for Puljujarvi makes sense

Hard to find a team that would overpay for his services. McCann is a good player but he is also a dime a dozen in the NHL. Also especially if the pens add either Toffoli or Dadonov there really isnt a spot for him on the roster considering he isnt a center.

Pool juice isnt worth MM after throwing a temper tantrum and sitting out last year. Kid may be skilled but his mind just aint right. Pittsburgh has had their fill of divas with AB. The wild have been rumored to MM and GMBG is rumored to want to platoon MM with Dubnyk. Thats where this trade comes from. And going through the history of goalie trades its widely accepted MM is worth at minimum a second plus a prospect or a favor.

True i think i did have one of those but it was mccann and HQ plus a pick for gurianov? But i honestly dont know how Dallas would view McCann. On the wing he can be a high end 3rd liner or a meh 2nd liner. Center ge is near useless though which was a problem against the Habs.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, im saying that im not into it. I think it's a risk that Minnesota doesn't need to take. I suggested Puljujarvi because if the Pens really do want a potential top 6 RW, I think he could be that and Edmonton has a bigger need for MM than Minnesota. I didn't make a proposal, I just threw out an idea that could make sense. That's fair & I 100% agree. Im just not into a MM trade as a fan. Not because I dislike Murray, but instead because I find it unnecessary. I also, don't want to get rid of that 2nd rounder because we no longer have PIT's 1st this year, and we traded our 3rd to trade up for Beckman last year

Where did the rumor of the Wild wanting to platoon Murray with Dubnyk come from?

Local radio in pittaburgh said they had a source saying the wold were dark horse candidates for MM.

So nothing about Dubnyk? He's a buyout candidate, if Guerin acquires a goalie they'd probably split starts with Stalock. I really can't imagine him going after someone he'd have to protect in the expansion draft, they have a prospect that looks like he could be their future starter to protect already and Stalock meets the exposure requirements. Buyout Dubnyk, promote Kahkonen, and have Stalock compete with him for starts. Instant improvement in goal!
