Description
Before you say 19 & 27 aren't worth 8 look at this. It is a graph that all NHL GMs have and use. Doesn't mean they would accept and could very well decline. In fact it is probable they decline but also possible they accept. http://statsportsconsulting.com/main/wp-content/uploads/Schuckers_NHL_Draftchart.pdf
Another thing to keep in mind is this team now has 5 players who were very important pieces of Cup winning teams. 4 of which won in the last 2 years.

Quality over quantity, period. If you want the 8th pick add something Buffalo needs to that offer.

Lol Kings accept, but I don't think it would cost two 1st rounders though.

haha upgrading while saving cap... doubtful washington though wouldnt touch this deal at all maybe swap Lindholm for JG and remove the 1st....paying a premuim price for a player that had really good year isnt smart and JG is solid but soft AF hes better than Vrana but cost 2x as much and will be a UFA...

Kuzy > Monahan
Vrana < JG but factor in term and cap this would be a dumb trade for washington
1st?? is not the difference between JG and Vrana skill level

Zero chance the Jets give up a 1st and 2nd for a 36 year old with a high cap hit for another 2 seasons.

Idk why Washington would do that, don't think the 1st round pick should be in there anyway.

Did u even look at the chart? The chart said yes. 2 first round picks has way better chances of landing a superstar. 10 drafts from previous years
2017 - Mittelstadt for Josh Norris and Frost - I think Frost will be better than Mittelstadt but tie right now
2016 - Alex Nylander for Bellows and Howden - 19 & 27 are better
2015 - Werenski for Svechnikov and Beauvillier - 8 is better
2014 - Nylander for Tony DeAngelo and Nikolay Goldobin - 8 is better
2013 - Ristolainen for Kerby Rychel and Marko Dano - 8 is better
2012 - Derick Pouliot for Vasilevskiy and Henrik Samuelsson - 19 & 27 are better
2011 - Couturier for Klefbom and Namestnikov - 8 is better but not by a hell of a lot
2010 - Alex Burmistrov for Bjugstad and Coyle - 19 & 27 are better
2009 - The page wouldn't work so I can't tell
2008 - Boedker for Sbisa and John Carlson - 19 & 27 are better
2007 - Zach Hamill for Logan MacMillan and Brendan Smith - Brendan Smith is the only on I've ever heard of so 19 & 27 win

I think it may. Marleau took one so Lucic will probably take two

The trade is totally fair. Gaudreau is a first round pick better than Vrana. Janko is also a serviceable bottom six player. Gaudreau could very possibly score 100 points next season. Vrana could possibly score 60. That is 40 goals. That can win a lot of games

You have no good defensemen. He won the Norris Trophy a year ago. Give me a break that's a fine trade

CGY will have to pay to get rid of him. So i don't see 'any team' taking this deal the way it is

That is easily the least inflammatory trade, proposed. Ryan has 1 year left and if a decent bottom 6 guy that can PK. Maybe some kind of salary retention, but he's a 3rd line player.

I stand corrected after reviewing his stats I would agree.

You can take your previous sabermetrics and stick them somewhere. You don’t judge talent with a graph. I will take one great player over 2 good ones any day. Do you think Montreal would trade Nick Suzuki for Joel Ferabee and Joe Veleno right about now? I don’t.

JG has never scored 100 points in his entire NHL career. Looks like a solid 70-80 point winger. He has 2 years left till he’s a UFA. Vrana looks to be improving every year. It’s not crazy to think that he’s going to break 60 points. 52p in 69 games this year. JG had 58 points in 70. Yeah hard pass on the 1 for 1 let alone throwing in a 1st round pick. Vrána is 3 years younger and slightly worse for half the cost. Again HARDPASS. If JG is a 1st better than Vrana Kuzy is a 1st better than Monahan. Jankowski or whatever would be an Ahler in Washington. His value is maybe a future consideration. I know we arent sending him his QO. So at best AT BEST it would be Kuzy and Vrana for Monahan and JG. Even at that capitals say no bc we are downgrading at center and taking more cap.

Yes JG is better than Vrana but Vrana is younger, cheaper, and RFA that's about to be locked down for a long time. JG would probably play 2 years then walk. I'd do Kuz for JG, that makes more sense.
