Picks are assets... sure you might get some prospects but rangers fans (and management) need to lower their expectations.

I have been told by several Rangers fans that 2 x 2nd round picks is more than enough.

I meant players, prospects anything that fits our needs (LD and bottom 6 centers)

the value is ok... We trade a potential starter and all we get is picks? we are in great need of bottom 6 centers and LD (Staa is done and Smith's contract is just horrible) so a package deal including kreids and georgiev could bring us what we really need

Depends on what you are looking for exactly. Maybe Sda or Brooks Or similar player and a pick. Can’t see leafs sending any roster players.

Possibly Johnsson but I’m not sure that is smart.

CGY passes. Can keep Bennett and the pick and look to the UFA market for a goalie that doesn't cost assets.

Don't think CGY is moving Bennett this summer (unless blown away by an offer, of course) -- he's part of the future culture, not part of the problem.

Very easy to fill out the bottom of your roster with the UFA class this year. Wouldn't be hard. But SDA or Brooks would be our young forward prospects. Brooks could make an impact on the 4th or 3rd line, as of this coming year.

Dermott + Kerfoot? I've had that trade rejected by Rangers fans (though I think it's something of an overpay).

This season and next Cap space is more valuable than ever. the FA market is going to be super depressed. Moving out players who consume cap for picks then being able to use that cap space to pick Veteran 50 cents on the dollar is gold. Unless you are willing to trade Henrik and since if he retires you eat 3M in cap penalty NYR will need to retain at least 3M making a move for picks I the right move.

Starter for 3C and a 4-5th dman isn't an overpayment my friend

You said you are "in great need of bottom 6 centers and LD", so that was my proposal. Georgiev is also not a starter and goalies don't carry much value to begin with.

Georgiev ouplayed many starters this season... Price, bobrovsky, both goalies in edmonton, jones, etc. He is ready to be a starter and he has a lot of value. Minnisota, toronto or San Jose would love to have him has their starter

This Ranger fan would be okay with 2 seconds, although a second and a prospect might be better. But goalies dont usually bring big returns.

He didn't outplay Koskinen. Neither Jones, nor Bobrovsky had starter caliber seasons, so outperforming them doesn't really mean anything. He and Price were very similar (not that Price was mind blowing either) - difference being that Price sustained his play over 58 games, whereas Georgiev didn't (and has yet to in a season) break the 40 game mark. He has never shown that he can be a bonafide starter, whether through workload or performance. Could he possibly be someday? Sure, but as of now he isn't and doesn't carry much more value than what is average for a goalie of his caliber.
