Well he is still an elite top pair RHD, but I agree, the Avs are like the last team that would need him lol. So they won’t pay the price the pens need to trade him. So the pens shouldn’t trade Letang let alone get such a low return for him.

Marcus Johansson sucks at 3C so no thanks on that. We could just keep Bjugstad who is 400k cheaper and a righty. Colin Miller for a draft pick wouldn’t be bad. No to the Letang trade. If the pens don’t get a quality top 4 RHD for Letang or don’t clear enough cap to get Pietrangelo then it’s not worth it.
I don’t see the sharks accepting the Murray trade while they still have jones. Blueger has proven himself to be a good enough to play for this team in the bottom 6. Don’t think it’s necessary to sign someone to a bigger contract to take his spot and scratch him.

agreed. Letang is an elite RHD and worth much more than that. But Colorado is set on RHD with Makar/Johnson/Timmons. no need for him.

Marcus Johansson was not bad at 3C. The Pens are not getting a quality top 4 dman for Letang, but can get a prospect they can develop into one. Letangs value is not that high. Thats like trying to sell me a 94 Honda and telling me about all the good times you had in it, thinking that justifies asking what you paid for it new. No he literally sucks at center. Look at his stats. Only one year of his career where he has played a consistent amount of center did he post a faceoff % over 43.2%. That’s abysmal for a center, let alone a 3C. He was a -13 last year. His possession stats suck. Why would the pens pay for that when they already have an upgrade over that with McCann? Not to mention he has a higher cap hit than Bjugstad lol

Oh I guess I missed the part where the Avs already have Makar, Girard, Graves, Johnson, Cole and Zadorov and have Byram and Timmins knocking on the door. And what role would he play? Just such a reach and expenditure of unnecessary assets the Avs just chuckle and say no thanks.

Cole plays off hand. Girard imo plays even better on the right. And Timmins doesn’t really need another year. So the Avs should have a $7M depth dman. That’s just ridiculous.
