I think Toews is the better player but Pulock is right handed so he's loved

Why would the Isles give up a number #1 defenseman for a winger, use your brain next time

bc nylander is sick also I love Pulock as much as the next guy but you gotta wonder how much of his success is the system. He was pretty good before it so I’d guess it’s less of an effect on him than say a mayfield or Pelech but if his number comes in way high this offseason you should at least consider a deal like this

Pulock and pelech had their breakout seasons before trotz, which is why he put them together when he first became head coach. In 17-18 pelech led the islanders in almost every shot suppression metric and pulock's underlying numbers from 17-18 are nearly identical to the past two seasons with trotz as HC. Trotz deserves credit for Mayfield because he helped him with his decision making, which was awful before he became HC.

Nylander cap hit is $6.9m (nice). Pulock will get less than that. You literally just signed him for $6.25m. Your logic is way off base here.

Pelech was really terrible but you’re right, Pulock being a -4 on the 17-18 islanders is like being a +50 on these islanders

The reason why some fans hated pelech before trotz is because he had trouble knowing when to pinch, but he was their best defensive defenseman even before trotz.
