Ghost isn't that good. You're probably better off saving the cap and getting someone else

Doubt maroon is moving from sunny, tax-reduced Florida on a contender to Buffalo to play for the Sabres. Also Derek Grant could get that contract or more from a real contender as well, he has no reason to move.

I think that Reinhart's contract will be closer to what Boeser received. also take into consideration the economics of the NHL now it will be lower in my opinion

Fleury’s contract is what makes this impossible. I actually don’t think the Sabres will do anything with the goaltending this off season. We’ll suffer one more year of Hutton as the back up. I also don’t think they would make very many moves at all. Most of the roster will be filled from within, spending as little money as possible. Sabres fans hoping for a big splash will likely be very disappointed.

I played this as more of a change of scenery for change of scenery. If they can get him to lit up, it could be very scary. I see what you mean though

Reinhart already gave the Sabres a break with his bridge contract two years ago. He’s not giving them another break this time. He’s proven he’s a strong top-6 player

I really hope you’re wrong on Hutton haha, going in with the same tandem is telling everyone this team is not worried about improving this season. I’m hoping Adams and his (small) staff really digs into this analytics side they’re preaching and push for some more off the wall moves instead of status quo

Grant and Maroon is a stupid decision. Lazar was our hardest working player night in and night out last year. He and Asplund would be cheaper than Grant and Maroon and more effeicient. Also Haula isn't a 2C and playig him with Skinner is a great way to ensure Skinner has another down year.

I'll agree there won't be a big hockey trade but there will be a trade or two. A RHD will go whether it brings the needed LHD or a RW'er. They also have to acquire a 2C, they can't do to Cozens what they did with Mittelstadt. Over the years they have had the opportunity to give Sam his own line and they never did so doubt they are going to do it now. Their payroll is still going to be at least mid 70's regardless.

I think the payroll stops at about $70 million for this season. They make one trade but it doesn’t add money to the payroll. If it does they make another trade unloading the difference for draft picks and everyone is pissed. I have rather low expectations, this way I won’t be disappointed.

I didn’t love the idea either, but they are not going to buy out or bury Hutton’s contract. Plus, I think now that he can see they will let him try to rebound. Reinhart is not worth $7 million a year. That kind of money is reserved for points per game players, and he falls short of that. He’s a solid 50 to 60 pt guy worth no more than $6.5 million per year, and that’s on an eight year deal.
