I think they're more likely to get Barzal, since they Islanders have less cap space (I belive), but Dubois is a young french-canadian center, so I think they'd rather him. Both are great players, either would be a great addition to the Habs lineup

I feel like they have a better shot with barzel (due to islanders cap issues) if they shoot high enough but Dubois is the more realistic choice for them. Dubois is getting matched to anything under 10.

To be honest with the reemergence of kk on top of Suzuki I’m supprised if they send one.

I think the realistic OS would be for a top pairing LHD to a seriously cap strapped team like the lightening or Blues. Dunn at 6 Mil x 6 Years costs a 1st + 2nd + 3rd and I am not sure the blues can or will match it.

Both offersheets would fail in my opinion.

Target one of TB's RFA's; Sergachev, Cirelli, or Cernak. TB only has $5.3M left to sign 5 players to get to the minimum 20 man roster. All of there players with an actual cap hit have NTC's except for Point (Not trading him), Vesilevsky (Not trading him) and Killorn (M-NTC, 5th most used forward this season and 3rd most used in playoffs).

TB is screwed, go for Sergachev.

Suzuki looks looked like Bergeron lite during the series against philly. I know his skillset is better suited for center than wing, im not sure about Kotkaniemi.

Barzal is both the better player and the one with a higher chance of being successfully offer sheeted, so that would be my pick.

That being said, I still can’t imagine anyone actually tenders an offer sheet this year with the flat cap.

Why is this still a topic? The Habs have a pair of good looking up-and-coming centers of their own already.

It's the perfect time to make an offer sheet with flat cap and most teams under extreme cap pressure.

How will Tampa match any offersheet for their RFAs?

By saying "yes, we'll match that" and then getting ripped off in trades involving other, lower-priority players. Cirelli is too important to them.

Why are all the big market teams fan always looking for the quick fix? I’ve been harsh about Kotkaniemi but he definitely started to show something. With him and Suzuki the Habs have something to build on why jam yourself to the cap and lose picks?

This is true, Anything 10.6+ isles will have to consider taking the four first rounders but would a GM want to put their team in a hole like that when 95% of first round draft picks go to the NHL and then also having to use up so much cap space?

I think they'd even have trouble matching a smaller OS. What would they do if the other team OS 10Mx1?
