VAN declines, Boeser is a better player plus DeAngelo's main asset is PP Quaterback, which you already have Hughes for

you are an idiot. ADA is worth more than Boeser alone. And Juolevi+Virtanen is a joke of a proposal.

Deangelo is the Ryan Strome of defence. Hes another 1 hit wonder who cant defend. Reminds me of Erik Gustafsson

Fully expected a response like this. I just see a secondary offensive defenceman that has grown his game every year. As for Boeser, I really don't want the Canucks to trade him but this reallocates some of the very little cap space the team has, and even though injuries have been a factor I just see a player that is having trouble adapting to being marked despite having better teammates each season. Also, his camp wouldn't accept a long term deal around the 7.25 mil mark before, so what are they going to be asking for once Petey, Hughes get raises.

For the $5 million you're paying De Angelo, you could probably re-up Stecher, get a free agent to replace Tanev, and keep Boeser. Wouldn't that be better asset management?

Assuming that Tampa matches that OS, Anaheim sees Detroit's 2020 fifth and raises with the Nashville fourth and Vancouver boy Devan Sideroff for those players and your 2021 second.

But once you get rid of Eriksson, your cap problems vanish. With Sutter, Edler and Benn expiring, you'll have about $16 million to re-up Pettersson and Hughes and sign three replacements.

Stecher's days are numbered. Word is Benning has explored moving him.

Not sure I understand your second comment.. are you suggesting the Ducks would take the Detroit trade? Why would they need Demko when they have Gibson?

16 million?

Let me underestimate their contracts: Petey 9 million + Hughes 7 million = 16million.

Don't Demko and Pearson in the same year, then (assuming they keep him) Boeser the year after, then Horvat and Miller the year after that. Canucks have cap problems for years to come

Stecher's looked awfully good to me this post-season. Maybe that's just because my own defense looks awful, period.

Demko for us would be extra protection in the expansion draft as well as serving as a backup, assuming of course that Ryan Miller hangs them up at last. We have only Silfverberg, Terry and Rowney at RW right now, so Virtanen would be welcome. The main snag would be whether we actually have enough cap space to do this; I haven't mocked it up although I've done three constructions recently taking Eriksson on.

You have Sutter, $4.375 million, Edler, $6 million, Benn, $2 million, plus the $3.25 million you have left over, plus the Ryan Spooner buyout comes off the books = $16.65 million. You won't have Demko to pay, barring a very unlikely set of circumstances. I'm assuming that you'll be able to sign Pettersson ($7.5 million, or $6.5 million extra) and Hughes ($6.5 million, or $5.5 million extra) to shorter, less expensive contracts before giving them the big-number deals. Of course, their contracts will be determined in large part by Barzal's contract this next off-season. But even if they get signed to 7- or 8-year deals at your figures, that's $14 million above what they're making now, so you still have room for three entry-level contracts without further moves.
