Hire Laviolette

Created by: Cham
Team: 2020-21 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 24, 2020
Published: Aug. 24, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Colitons done, Laviolette led three different teams to a combined three cup finals with one win, and all three had no business getting there, something tells me he rubbed off on Brind’amor and helped him become an amazing coach, and I firmly believe that he was only fired to help Poile save face.

Also the hawks should see if Jim Montgomery would be interested or ready for an Assistant coaching job alongside Marc Crawford and likely replacing Brookbank since that’s Collitons Guy.

This in addition to a few roster moves should give the hawks a great chance to make the playoffs next year and win once they get there

(Those bottom 3 LW can be shuffled depending on how Suter plays)

Too much for Strome. Play hardball with him to get him to 2.5 mill max. Otherwise explore a trade for him. Rangers have an appetite for center depth, could be an interesting trade there for Georgiev.

trade dehaan not maata and tighter one gets more than a 7th. Don't trade Nylander if that's all you're gonna get for him. Also sounds like Colliton is 99% coming back next year but will be on the hot seat if the team doesn't perform. Its eighter playoffs this season or Stan and Colliton are gone

Colliton probably gets one more year, so I doubt Laviolette is available that long. On the other side, I think one more year away from hockey would be perfect for Monty, and see if he's ready next year. He was the guy I was hoping would replace Q in the first place, but because they couldnt make up their minds in the summer we lost out on him.

I think the only way Colliton is fired and Nylander traded is if Bowman is fired, which I know is certainly not a deal breaker for a lot of fans, hah. I'd think Laviolette and Gallant would at least be considered by a new GM, if that they decided to move on from Bowman.
I know he didn't look good a lot of the time, but Nylander did just play his first full season in the NHL and is 22. We all would have liked for him to play better this last season. It's a touch early to give up on him in my opinion.

I think Colliton will get one more year, but I think Laviolette would be the best option to replace him, He knows the central division, he could the defense, and I think he will be way tougher than Colliton.

Brookbank or Crawford won't get fired, they did there job and succeeded.

Mitell is awful and needs to go

I think TR or Montgomery should be hired as an assistant coach

Also I think Stan Bowman will become the next President and I'm fine with that

I dont think the COL trade value is bad.
The problem is that they literally couldnt fit both guys into their bottom 6F if they wanted

If Colliton doesn’t get fired would you rather see Montomery brought on as an assistant with the possibility to replace Colliton or wait and see who’s available next year, which likely includes Montgomery in that case

It would be interesting if they did what they did with Colliton, give him a year as the HC in Rockford, assuming the AHL plays their season

I like SlickWilly's idea of bringing him in for a year at Rockford. If the AHL doesn't play a season, then sure, bring him on as an assistant coach or even like a special assistant to the GM so he's in the building.

Ideally, the Blackhawks take a step forward next season which means Colliton probably won't be fired and they allow Montgomery to interview elsewhere. If they don't take a step forward, Bowman and Colliton are likely out. and the new GM will have Montgomery in the building to promote or keep as an assistant.
