Calgary needs to get more out of a potential Gaudreau trade (ie: 1st or 2nd, roster player, prospect, etc.); The Penguins just made off like bandits here.

Gus will sign that exact contract somewhere if its not with the flames. solid second paring defense man who can run the power play is a hot commodity that teams will pay for.

Thats what it will take to get hall. if you dont like hall thats fine but with the correct linemates he could be a superstar in calgary.

Gaudreau is a one dimensional player who has proven that he cant elevate his game, he doesnt have the size to play playoff hockey and he is not a heart and soul player. these facts have been proven year after year and it is a fact that gaudreau will never be able to push this team to the next level. Other teams in the league all know this so they know they will be picking up a an offensive star who is gonna be a liability in every other aspect of the game. the trade above might be a little undervalued so maybe you bump the pick to a third round pick but if we are gonna get some useful assets back to make a run in the next couple of seasons then that is the type trade we are gonna have to make. if not then full rebuild is the only other option

i just thought gus would get closer 2 3.5, notice i never actually said it was a bad a contract (hall), i just said we wouldnt sign it, also WTFDH!, u think this is the only way we can get assets! jarry is good but unproven & mccann is a middle 6 LW (hint we dont need more of those) & we rnt going into rebuild, no matter what

none of what i did makes us go into a rebuild. another fact is we are never winning anything with this core.

need drastic change to the core of this team

I'll eat my ****ing shirt if the Flames attach a 1st round draft pick to Johnny in a trade where the main piece coming back is a fricken goalie who had a sub .900 save % this year.

Let's try to get in touch with reality just a little bit here.

ok flames fans lets sit around and stay in this **** mediocre rank 14-18 for the next 10 years with a core that is unable to elevate, an aging captain and below average goalies. this is the same problem that we have with our GM. never does anything risky and we never improve. he failed the zucker trade, was thwarted in the kadri trade, failed the hall trade. overvaluing mediorce assets like johnny gaudreau who is incredibly one dimensional then we can keep losing in the first round. some of you so called flames fans are so delusional that we have a good team or on a good path to winning. big changes are required but no one is willing to take the risk

The answer to the Flames problems isn't to get bent the **** over in a Gaudreau trade.

thats not getting bent over.

hes a one dimensional playmaker who is a liability in everyother aspect of the game. people have figured out how to play against him. (apply any sort of pressure to him). as soon as a team figures out to shut him down the flames crumble behind him. he also does not show up in the playoffs whatsoever for the exact same reason i listed above. he also is not a heart and soul guy that can get the rest of the team to elevate his game.

again hes one dimensional. other GMS in the league no this and we are not gonna get blue chip assets for a guy who has that many flaws

You bent yourself over.

You traded the best player in the deal by a country mile, and added a 1st round pick to get a middle six forward and a platoon goalie with starter upside. The Flames would't trade Gaudreau for McCann and Jarry by himself, never mind adding a 1st to the deal.

Gaudreau is a perennial all star, has put up on average point per game stats for 5 seasons now, which includes a 99 point season where he was 4th in Hart voting.

Better lube yourself up first.
