I don't mind this, I often hate offer sheets but who knows what happens. One thing is that i would sign Gustafsson for less than Brodie because he made that top unit of the powerplay so much better.

Why are the Flames adding when they're giving up an established 30 goal 1C for a prospect that hopes to be that good, currently projected as a 2C. Cozens+8oa for Monahan is the lowest offer the Flames would consider come on now just cuz he's pretty good in junior doesn't mean he'll be significantly better than a 25yo 30 goal 1C

I don’t think Monahan to Buffalo is going to work. Flames fans want Cozens which wouldn’t happen.

Isn’t the whole thing that Monahan is miscast as a 1C?

He's 15th in goals over the last 6 years and scores 30 goals a year. That's pretty consistent and better than most 1Cs, considering only 6 of the guys ahead of him are centres and 4 of them play for 2 teams. I wouldn't say he's the best 1C by any means, but he can certainly play 1C effectively. Having him as a 2C would just make him more deadly as he'd be getting easier matchups. He'd definitely be one of the top 2Cs. He's also only 25.

No he's a 1A/B center, but Calgary doesn't have a 2nd 1A/B center to go along with him like Vegas or Nashville do. Flames have the winger depth to run essentially 2 top lines but don't have the 2C for it. There is a similar problem in Winnipeg.

Best offer I could do for Monahan without giving up Cozens is 8th OA, Montour, and TT

In past I haven't seen CGY willing to part with more than like a 2nd for Georgiev...Seems like a better prospect than would be willing to give?

hes another left handed winger that had a breakout year. No idea on his value. Its a pretty safe bet that Laffy boosted his stats, but not necessarily the entire case since he still earned a top line spot on the team

Problem is 25 is statistically past a F prime production.

Remember when Philly shook up their core years back? Part of it was dealing Richards to LA...I remember them adding to Richards to get a top prospect at the time in Brayden Schenn.

Oh no, wait....it was the other ****ing way around. Because established NHLers who are proven 1st liners and still in their prime are WORTH MORE THAN PROSPECTS AND DRAFT PICKS!

People on this fricken site sometimes.....
