I don't mind the other trades, I think Nichushkin might be a good power forward although I don't know what his offensive ceiling is, I don't think Rakell is exactly the piece we need and I'm sorry but why are we giving up Komarov, who provides the Leafs with immense value in terms of leadership and abilities and one of our best defensive prospects for Yakupov?

Dallas would give a big f u. Nichushkin plus a small piece would make sense for them for JVR.

trading bozak and a couple young cheap guys ready to play in a bottom 6 for Rakell would be a smart move. The ducks moving salary out helps them sign lindholm and gives them there 3rd line Center and some depth on the left side. Stoner adds some toughness to so we can move polak. JVR/kappy for nichushkin/johns gives Dallas the best player for at least two years. It's a risk for both teams but one that I think suits both teams current situation. Even if the picks weren't involved it could be a good trade for both teams. Trading for yakupov is a buy low option but I didn't want to just put nothing in for Toronto as Edmonton will likly have some bidders. Komorov gives them a player to help there young guys and let's them move on for a guy who needs a change of scenery. We could add any prospect that would make sense for both teams.

I like Yakupov. And on this skilled team with a change of scenery under Babs he could be a great addition for cheap. But it's a risk. We give up one year of komorovs locker room personality and on ice grit. We now have Martin and long term haveing yak over Komo makes sense when we start to compete

Leafs should be able to get a 1st and Nichuskin easily for JVR. Maybe not Johns, but Nemeth or Oleksiak.

Komarov alone should be enough to get Yak and a pick. Leafs need to keep Dermott as he will be replacing Gardiner in 3 years. Considering Stoners horrible contract and the favour to Anahein for taking it, I dont think TO needs to add Rychel or the pick.
