Winnipeg offseason

Description
The Jets were badly exposed at the tournament with the injury of Scheifele. This team really needs a 2nd center. They could be agressive on the pursuit of one and there's some good option they could for. They could look at Nashville's top two of Johansen or Duchene since Nashville are looking for change and they could be on the move. They could also look at Montreal's Max Domi, but the option that could result in a homerun would be Dylan Strome. He proved that surrounded by big players we could deliver like in his first year in Chicago (51 pts with Kane and DeBrincat). He won't command a astronomic amount based on past performances but he got top 6 talent and could slot immediately as the 2nd center, while saving money to get a top 4 defenseman. The top 6 in settle for a good time (if Laine can be resign to a long term contract) and all of them (except for Wheeler) are young top 6 players on good contracts.
After that on the ufa market they should target a veteran goaltender to relieve Hellebuyck from duties. I think he's the goaltender who played the most last season and he could enjoy some rest with a good backup If available Elliott would be my choice. He mentor Hart and now could give Hellebuyck some nights out since he's a good backup goalie. After trading Roslovic a spot is open on the rw and a guy like Simmonds could be a good option. I think he's fit to play Winnipeg style. Je could play on the 3rd line, 2pp for a reasonable amount of money. Then for the top 4 defenseman he's not my favorite, but I would go with Dillon. A stay at-home defenseman he could be the perfect partner for Pionk that would allow him to be more agressive on the offense zone. Winnipeg don't got a hard to play against defenseman and Dillon should play that role on a team that like the physical play. They also need to be careful since help is on the way at defense with Heinola, Samberg, Stanley and Green since all they could be on the roster in 2-3 seasons.

I can't see this being the strongest offer Chicago will get for Strome. They should be looking for a Dman or a Goalie in a trade if they can't resign him.

Oups it was supposed to be a 3 year deal.

I view Strome as someone who can get you a mid 1st round (15 overall), while Roslovic a high first rounder (22-25th). The difference would be a 2nd round pick and they could add a 3rd if necessary or maybe another 2nd but would be my final offer.

Wouldn't overpay for Strome or sell low on Roslovic.

Id rather have a guy like Pat Maroon over Simmonds, Harkins will excel enough to play top 9 minutes

Honestly i havent seen Roslovic play very much, so my opinion is only based on numbers. I still think Chicago will find a better deal than this for Strome. Adding a 3rd still doesn't do enough for me, but with the flat cap maybe a pick is more valuable than taking back a body.
