Dude Bishop is straight up awesome. He has a great cap number and his numbers in Dallas are amazing. If he wasn't hurt he'd be out there. More likely they let dobby walk if ottenger is ready.

No we just have different opinions. Which is fine. Poking at people that disagree with you is pointless. I’d rather talk it out. Maybe we both learn something

That’s fair. Even with the flooded market I think there will be a team or two still needing an upgrade and we’ll be able to get a pick for him. I honestly think Oettinger gets another year as the starter in the A tho. Which is why I wondered if Carolina would send one of their goalies and a pick for Bish. They’d get an upgrade and we would get some immediate and long term cap space
So, this was my fault. I am an idiot. I was ignorant to the fact that Bishop is hurt right now. I’m someone who is always willing to admit when they’re wrong, and I was wrong.
So.. your response today about poking at you had me scroll back up to see what I said that pissed you off. And that’s when I saw
@Jfstompers response, which I never saw yesterday and would have solved my mess. I go “what, hurt?” ...I HONESTLY HAD NO IDEA BEN BISHOP WAS HURT!! Which makes me totally ignorant and an idiot. Thanks
@SlevinKalevra for taking the high road. It also wasn’t really my intention to come across so negative, and I totally agree with your sentiment of constructive conversations and learning from each other. And I’ve read enough philosophy to know the importance for wise men, to be wise, must actually first understand that he knows nothing.
And so... I’ve watched A LOT of bubble hockey, but I did miss the Stars first round robin game. And since I’ve only seen Khudobin in net playing at a high level. And the only storylines I’ve heard talked about were how outstanding he has been, I just assumed that Khudobin had beaten out Bishop during the training camp, which seemed plausible to me since the Stars have two capable goalies. I think part of it is the media having less access to the bubble and not seeing practices, there is only so many times you can report on “unfit to play” especially when on the flip side, the play of Khudobin is a much more exciting story to write/talk about. And also, I’m sure it was talked about a lot in those first round robin games and a MAJOR story at first, but I must have been less focused on those bc I was indifferent over the seeding, I’m not even sure anymore. I just hadn’t heard Bishop talked about, and it was my bad for not knowing the injury and making the bad assumption he was beat out.

That article spelled out the lack of information pretty well.
With Khudobin’s stellar playoff play and the fact his price likely has gone up, the cap situation, Bishop’s cap number, the fact you have a 1st rd stud in Oettinger signed at an ELC, the fact that Oettinger had a stellar rookie AHL season and now has been with the big club inside the bubble on a playoff run as the backup already... IMO spells a recipe that says one of your goalies will be gone next year, Bishop or Khudobin, and it’s hard to project certainly. But so far seems to be VERY buyer friendly. I could see that Canes scenario. But I think Stars go with the cheaper backup option. If no AHL season, then it becomes a no brainer, Oettinger would have to be on the Stars, which I think also factors into one of the other goalies being gone.
Short answer: sorry for walking around with my eyes closed.
