Nothing makes me hesitant on Georgiev, per se, the hesitance is more on the cost, trade wise. If anybody asked me if I think the Leafs should be interested in him, my answer would be a resounding yes, but I personally wouldn't overpay for any goalie (it's such a fickle position, which is a good reason why they don't carry much trade value), let alone one who's never broken the 40 game mark.

Yeah makes sense. I guess we'll see what they do!

He's not the odd man out? he's blocked by a franchise tendy. I think Freddy ain't it tbh

He has not ever proven himself as a starter. Johnsson + and I would consider it but otherwise he can be this incredible asset on your bench.

He's better than Andersen and Askarov is gone. Schneider isn't NHL ready so I don't see the positive there.

better than andersen? your bias towards the rangers clouds your judgment of other nhl players. Askarov may not be gone and Schneider is still a good pick. 15th is not being traded for f cking georgiev. he isn’t close to worth that value.
and before you say “but kapanen is?” no. kapanen isn’t. i already explained that

What if you got a first for Freddy? I think Leafs could use Georgiev and he'd be solid for you guys and not Swiss cheese in the Playoffs.

"Swiss cheese in the Playoffs" makes it clear you don't watch the leafs much. Maybe let in 1 bad goal that entire series and let in 10 total over 5 games. The amount of odd man rushes he faced are absurd as well. At the very best Georgiev would be a lateral move to Andersen and that is reaching. The leafs are fine in the top 6 and between the pipes. That pick would only be moved for a top-4 D imo.

Yeah that's kinda harsh of me to say tbh. Freddy is good I just value Georgiev a lot. Maybe an improved defense shores that up.

I think goalies are really hard to say what they are or will be. A lot of it comes down to system and then the mental game. Could Gieorgiev become a good starter? Maybe? But he's far from proven and throwing him into TO's media circus would be hard on him. I don't know if he would be the answer or not. The risk is way too great to give up the 15th

Easy no from Leafs, Georgiev does not have this value at all.

Hard to argue before, but go look now.
Looking back now, Penguins have given 2x 1st rounders for him if you include the Kessel trade.

That's kinda insane lol. What do you think Dubas does with those pieces? Doesn't really improve the team right now per se.
Trickster liked this.

Draft Braden Schneider, NHL ready RD.
Or flip in a trade for an RD.

Would you take Askarov if he was there?
