Description
This is not a troll. Look at the trade details for explanation

What I forgot to add to the details was that Georgiev can share starts with Samsonov, and help him develop without maximum pressure
Trades
1.
NYR
  1. Alexeyev, Alexander
  2. Kuznetsov, Evgeny
  3. Sprong, Daniel [RFA Rights]
  4. 2020 1st round pick (WSH)
  5. 2020 3rd round pick (ARI)
  6. 2021 2nd round pick (WSH)
Additional Details:
Right now the Rangers’ biggest issue is finding a 2C that is not Ryan Strome. Kuz solves that issue comfortably and would allow them to trade Strome without consequences.

Usually Laf trades involve either the 2nd, 3rd, or 5th overall picks, but obviously this one doesn’t. IMO the Rangers are capable of winning now, so waiting for Byfield when they have Zibanejad and Kuz now would push him down the depth chart and affect his development.

When I look at the Rangers current roster, what jumps out to me is that they don’t really have 4th liners/depth forwards. Sprong can fill one of those holes and doesn’t have much competition from the Wolf Pack.

Alexeyev is pretty much only here to equalize the value among players, as well as being a legit blue-chipper D prospect
WSH
  1. Georgiev, Alexandar [RFA Rights]
  2. Robertson, Matthew
  3. 2020 1st round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
WSH has a capable 1C in Nicklas Backstrom, and they can definitely pull some strings to get a new 2C, for example Ryan Strome.

Lafreniere is a bona fide superstar player. He can develop slowly under Ovie and Vrana(and maybe even make the latter expendable). Hey can be the key piece in ushering in a new generation for the Caps eventually.

Robertson is really just to replace Alexeyev in the prospect pool.
2.
NYR
WSH
  1. Strome, Ryan [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
For anything. This isn’t the main trade

I don't think this is enough. You guys should take Shesterkin and Panarin too. And NYR has to make Reirden their coach

Kuznetsov provides empty calorie scoring. He doesn't produce enough to make up for the fact that he's one of the league's worst forward defensively. Also he's overpaid and is nearly 30 years old.

I considered putting McMichael in, but stopped myself. Is he what it would take?

If we are not trading for a good 2way center than I'd prefer that we trade for a prospect who has haigh upside the problem is that Kuzentsov is already 28 and is not great defensively
