Description
It's another disapointment season in Edmonton as the team as not officially made the playoff this season after being eliminated by the 12th seed Chicago in the tournament. For years the problem was the defense and now it's the offense. They have good (not great) elements in defense, but besides McDavid and Draisaitl but club lack depth on forward especially their Bottom 6. That's why the first move I would make would be to trade Larsson to Toronto for Johnsson. With the emergence of Bear, the fact that Bouchard will likely become a regular Larsson becomes expandable. Toronto can sacrifice Johnsson since they also got good player at lw with Mikheley, Hyman, Robertson and I think a one-on-one trade between those two is reasonable for both team and fill a needs. They also need a backup. They Don't have much caphit left so even if they should look for a 1b goaltender it's more likely they get a backup and my choice would be Dell. He's not good enough for a 1a-1b tandem but also not your regular backup. To me he's like between the two and he would be my choice. Finally there's that Puljujarvi situation. I saw a article in june that he was open to a return in Edmonton. I personally don,t think he's gonna comeback. A strong season in Europe add value to him and I think some team could be interested. One of those team is Montréal. After a strong postseason they could use some help especially at rw. Puljujarvi is young, big body he's the type Montréal could need and he could slot in the top 6 already. I think would be willing to move it for immediate help and fill a need.

While Puljujarvi is intriguing, I am not sure he will get the Oilers an early-to-mid first round pick in this draft. While he's done well back in Finland, we all expected that he would. I think they could get an early-to-mid second round pick in this year's draft, and maybe a B-level prospect. That's just my opinion (please don't hate).

ahah I Don't Don't worry, as long as the comments are respectul it's all good. I do agree it's intriguing. I think Puljujarvi is worth between a 15-20th overall pick (mtl as the 16th), so the value is not that far. Then it's up to Holland to convice Bergevin that he should do the trade.

I'd give to 2nd rounders and Poehling for Puljujarvi + Chiasson.

I guess it'll come down to a draft-day trade if Bergevin doesn't see a player that he values more than Puljujarvi sitting at 16.

I've got to imagine the Leafs say yes to that.

MTL isnt giving up 16th overall for JP. Could we use him yes, but I would do Poehling with a 3rd or a 2nd and another pick. Dont think MB gives up 16 for a question mark.

While there is alot of hate for Larsson, I still think that's a deal the Leafs take.
Johnsson is a good player, but he's a "nice to have" in the current Leafs roster, while an upgrade to RD is an urgent need.
Larsson may not be a bona fide top pair Dman, but he would be an upgrade for the Leafs right side, which currently consists of Justin Holl and a bunch of question marks.
