As far as CapFriendly can se there hasn't been a trade including more than 7 players and two picks.
A+ for effort.

that is a bad effort. That trade is a giant win for the Ducks.

Manson is going to remain a duck, why? Because for some reason his cost is insane and not remotely close to what they will get so no one will offer anything for him.

honestly i agree with you, i wanted the trade to be too much rather than too little but wanted to see, what about holl nylander kerfoot for manson rakell getzlaf half retained and keslers contract, im not a fan of manson too much either but i thought that would be a good option to get a rhd and cheap top 6 winger for willy

What I don't really get is why people would want to trade Nylander. Great goalscorer (only 14 did better than he did last season), young and a good contract. You don't solve your cap issues by trading away good contracts. Especially not for bad contracts like Henrique

because of his good contract i feel he has mor value than a guy like marner although hes better which is also why to trade willy before mitch, i also think youll be able to get good production out of rakell with him playing with 34/91, the basis of the trade was going to be willy for rakell and manson with kesler contract but i figured taking on that deal get something else, then i went a little too far

You have nothing worth Nylander except your 1st this year and I wouldn't move that if I were you.

Both have terrific value and both are still just entering their primes. Trading either is a mistake. Every team wants guys like Nylander and Marner. Every single one and most don't have them. Once you get them you keep them. End of story. Moving guys like Kapanen is where it makes sense

I think trading Willie would be the most stupid thing to do. I would lose all confidence in Dubas.

I'd rather move Marner than Nylander, not because he is bad, but because he makes at least 2m per year too much.

if they trade Nylander they only get assets back,
trading Marner also gets you cap space.

And Manson is not that good to be honest. not close to even.

should have worded it differently, not saying to move either, IF one were to go id pick willy over mitch because of those reasons, i said before im all for a move to help the team as long as it isnt a panic move and its for the right price.

Move one and now you have a huge hole on offense and who fills it? Robertson? I think we should temper our expectations there. Keep the core and fix the periphery. Dubas will get the right tweeks

i agree with manson thing, but with mitch someones gonna give you cap back to make it work on their end so at the end of the day i dont think itll be that much extra cap space, especially with the flat cap the next few years

This is why I would not mind a similar trade to this, but with Marner instead of Nylander and then some more return. By doing so, you actually create real cap flexibility

yesterday was a good sign, im just spitting out ideas tbh combined with boredom at work, if he can fix it without tweaks to the core then im all for it

The core wasn't the problem against Columbus, Matthews, JT, Marner and Nylander backchecked hard, they created offense and they gave it their all. Especially Matthews and JT. It was the depth that failed us. Kap never played the high forward properly in the offensive zone and that led to so many odd man rushes. Robertson blew that assignment as well but he was 18 so he deserves a pass on that. I think more time with Keefe and hopefully some progression from younger guys like Liljegren and Sandin and Lehtonen showing well in the NHL and this team could surprise people. I want to see a guy like Loughton on the team or Rust type of guys. Bottom 6ers who give it there all and aren't afraid to get in people's grills. They are also defensively responsible.

im not saying the core was the problem tbh, the main problem with this team all this year imo was the inconsistency of showing up to play, not many games i can rmember that the leafs truly played their all and just came up short or couldnt get it done

When they played their best they looked unstoppable. Then they would make a mistake (usually in the offensive zone) that led to a goal and they would collapse. Those mistakes keep happening but I think some more time with Keefe will iron those out. There was that one game against Florida where the Panthers had 2 shots from outside the Blueline in over a period and a half of play. That is TO at their best, they give you nothing and keep the puck in the offensive zone for ever. They just need to sort out those lapses that burn them. Kap was a guy who caused a lot of those problems so I am happy to see him go. Now we need some guys who can cause a little mayhem on teams defenceman and be better defensively.
