What makes you think a Career AHL player like Mittelstadt could fetch a player like Dylan Strome?

I agree with Stan. I don't see realistically this working. The trades aren't equal. Strome would be worth a lot more to other teams & honestly he's not my favorite RFA to go after to fix 2nd C.

I saw trade on HockeyBuzz and had chi adding skirura to deal.

I don’t think Hockeybuzz is a reliable source, and this trade they have created makes little sense for Chicago to do.

Well with Dach taking over 2c and strome having a bad year and will be asking for a lot of money. Is he 2c? He is very slow to play center. That is the gamble with him. Mittlestadt player very well in ahl. He is still very young and will need small bridge deal. But his potential is higher then that of strome.

Does the trade make sense? No. But to call Mitts a career AHLer at the age of 21 is a weird take. If you looked at strome at 20/12 you would have called him a career AHLer

Strome really didn't have a "Bad" year, a mixture of misusage and his partner Debrincat having a down year lead to his point totals being down, but him still producing as a .65 ppg player. That is a 53 point pace.

Dach may take over 2nd C, but that does not mean we should throw away strome for an offer like this, Toews is a world class player but he will eventually slow down, like everyone. Having Strome and Dach as our 1-2 punch for the next decade (and they are both young enough for that to be the case) is crucial to sustaining a decent hockey team.

Casey has not shown his potential, and he is still young, but I dont see any way he gets you Strome in a 1 for 1 deal, unless our GM is trying to sabatoge the teams future.

Might be a bad take on my part, calling him a Career AHLer.

I think both me and you know Strome probably doesn't have a long term future in Chicago. That being said, I do agree more needs to be added to this deal

Personally I think Strome should have a future in Chicago. If he does or not is up to the brass to decide.

That's gonna be a big ol' no from Columbus. We're hunting for a top-6 forward, preferably a 2C, and our strongest position in the prospect pipeline is G. Thompson's RFA rights and Portillo's potential do nothing for us.

They would instantly accept that overpayment. Thompson is still a good B prospect and Portillo is a huge dark horse goalie prospect. No way we trade Portillo. We'd offer our 2021 2nd for Anderson, no more

Interesting counterargument: you reject literally everything within my statement, and then come with an offer for Anderson that would be worse than what an offer sheet would return. Is this Peter Chiarelli's burner account?
