Created by: dpdan
Team: 2016-17 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 16, 2016
Published: Sep. 16, 2016
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
B's will have to part with 88, but hopefully young forwards develop (Vatrano, DeBrusk, JFK, etc) and can take up scoring long term. Jets get young winger who can score, a D prospect and picks. Would also swap out a first instead of 2 #2's. McQuaid becomes obsolete with another RD so hopefully Sweeney can pick up some extra mid round picks.

If I were the jets I'd take that in a heartbeat and try to flip one of my young forwards or pasta himself for a lesser NHL defensemen to replace truba but from the bruins I would say change pasta to griffon and either add a third or change on of the 2nd to a first bruins choice though

I think that if the B's could get Trouba for prospects and a high pick or two they would have by now. They're going to need to part with productive NHL players on affordable contracts. Unless Sweeney is a shrewder GM than I give him credit for.

He swindled the Kings and Sharks in trades. Hamilton trade looks solid as well. No way does Trouba cost all that. Maybe Lindholm, but i would not give up all that for him.

Spooner, Zboril, and a 2nd is probably the most I'd give up for Trouba, and I really like him as a player.

Kings deal was one sided no doubt. Sharks deal is a push in my book. B's make the playoffs last year with a better back up (I know Jones didn't want to be a backup anymore, but he was under contract so what was he going to do stay home?) and with the Sharks making the finals that pick lost most of its value. But I still go back to the fact that with the B's D looking so bad last year and coming back with the same group, if Sweeney hasn't called the Jets and offered them picks and prospects for Trouba or ANA for Lindholm, then that's just bad management. Especially if he could get Trouba (instantly a top pair on this team) for a third liner, a prospect who's coming off of a mixed season, and pick. I know that you should give a GM a few years, but everyone knew what the biggest weakness on this team is and they have made no improvements. Frustrating as a fan, is all.
