Just a possibilty

COL is obviously a team capable of winning the Cup. IMO it would be in the best interests of Sakic to try for one before Makar and Landeskog need new contracts. The Marner trade gives them an upgrade.
Jost is unneeded, they can get some assets for him while taking a smallish cap dump

VAN really has no need for Jost they are pretty much set at center for the foreseeable future with Petey, Horvat, and Gaudette

I don't know if Rantanen is better, but I would rather have his talent with his contract before I'd want Marner's talent and Marner's contract.

What would marner bring that rants isn't? Rants has been the only other player producing points right now it makes no sense to trade him. I think the real move would be to upgrade donny on the 2nd line wing.

I agree with you, Donny could use an upgrade

Marner brings playmaking, I bet Mac would get 50 goals with Marner on his line and PP

both are exactly the same except one is a playmaker the other is a scorer. Literally no difference.

Nothing... at best it's a lateral move, mikko is an 80pt 6"4 workhorse.. marner is a frustrating skill guy who doesnt play well in the playoffs (so far) the mikko for mitch trade makes no sense for colorado, no matter what else Toronto is offering In the deal

They have like the same stats over the past 3 years, rants actually has slightly more points per game. It makes no sense to take on the extra cap in the move when the cap isn't raising at all. I don't think rants is the problem with colorado.

I think we're gonna have to wait for a new all star game format or a world tourny to see them play together. I think they played together in the world championships the other year and thrived.

I hate his contract but I see Mitch as having a really high ceiling when he figures it out. He also won't get injured because he never gets hit. The funny thing is that all the guys on that line are kind of similar, can you imagine if they had someone who could slow the play down and has crazy stupid vision and pinpoint passing? Yikes. The haters can say all they want (and usually do) but the guy has ridiculous vision and Tavares' point totals went up with Mitch and went down when they split them up.

Massive over pay to Zadorov AAV AND term.
How does Marner make the Avs better than Mikko unless they are going for smaller and more expensive.
Avs should decline anything associated with a cap dump.
I do like Haula a lot on a 2 yet deal, not at all for $4.25M.
