Merkley is boom or bust. too big of a risk to trade a first line guy.

Idk about boom or bust. 2 years ago? For sure, has great talent but there are some character issues.

Now? Mark Hunter (a guy who guys would trust) has said those character issues has completely gone away and has become a leader. And his other flaw in his game, his defensive game? Improved dramatically.

Honestly, I’m just not too high on him. I haven’t liked him for awhile, maybe my opinion will change but I don’t wanna give up Nylander for him

I don't think either team does it. Merkley is going to be needed, unless we (should) protect Burns in the expansion draft. Then in 2 years on Def, it would be Vlasic/EK65 & Ferraro/Burns as top 2 pair, w/ Simek most likely going to Seattle.
