Monahan is better than Hischier and may always be (ther should not be a retention though). Hanifin is significantly younger than PK but I can understand the 2 year retention can be a turn off. Wolf is a very good goalie prospect. Idiots is not the right word here. since getting Monny could probably bring in Johnny in 2 years

No. no, Hischeir is a lot younger and better than Monahan, and hes certainly got higher potential (people forget he was taken 1st overall and that he was an all star this year)

Hanifin is significantly better and cheaper than Subban.

I dont know much about Wolf, but hes not good enough to make up for the difference in value.

Both teams decline imo

NJ trade is denied by both teams. I like the Detroit trade though, but only if we get a proper starter+backup. Greiss is another platoon guy, not a starter, and I don’t think Zagidulin is ready to be a backup, let alone a 1B. Toff will get more, that’s a lot for Soderberg

Neither team should do that trade. Ignoring Wolf, the Flames trade the best player and receive the worst. Hanifin is better than Subban but Monahan is better than Hischier so you are just downgrading. The Devils do upgrade but also lose a player with tons of potential and take a huge hit from the retention and that is a deal breaker
