Bahl and a first is what NJ got for Taylor Hall.

Would you trade Taylor Hall for Johnsson and an unsigned Dermott?

There is nothing wrong with Anderson contract with that said the Wings don't make that deal

I wouldn’t do either the first or bahl for both of those.

The article that named Andersson as a player on the trade block (from James Mirtle of the Athletic) made fairly clear that they just want to clear his cap (not his salary, which is only $1 million). The article says,

"The Leafs starting goaltender can apparently be had for a “useful” but low-cost asset in what would largely be a cap-clearing trade. Andersen could be a really intriguing option for a team without a lot of cash, as he has only $1 million in salary remaining due to a large signing bonus the Leafs have already paid. I wonder if the Oilers might be a fit given they want to overhaul their goaltending situation, although they’d have to find a way to make Andersen’s cap hit work."

CapFriendly lists his salary and AVV both at $5M So my assumption would be his bonus would be paid to start the season (typically July 1st)

TOR is not going to get any value trading players with high salaries, as the league knows they want to improve and clear cap space. Trades aren't made in a vacuum, the GMs know what is happening. So saying "he's worth X" doesn't mean they are getting X for them. Not everyone is Jim Rutherford (who WAY overpaid for KK. Rutherford will be jobless soon when this doesn't work out).

Also, DET has no reason to trade for Andersen. He's not young, he's not cost-controlled, and they aren't going to give them a higher-end prospect for a 1-year contract. His contract is in line with his performance, but the value isn't there for DET.
