Wish Buffalo would do this

Created by: edwardtedbrady

Initial Creation Date: Aug. 27, 2020
Published: Aug. 27, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Okay. This is another idea/option for Buffalo.

Winnipeg
They need Defensemen & Risto has been rumored to go there for a long time. It finally happens because they trade Copp & a 4th for their Defensemen they know can be on the ice for long shifts & play offensively.

Penguins
They are going for a cup run. They trade Jarry for Johansson to add more depth on the wing & also get some late round picks.

Bolts
Bolts need to shed cap. They can't keep Gourde & Cirelii. With Cirelli's playoff performance they opt to keep him. They trade Gourde for picks & prospects that won't go against their cap.

UFA additions
Jesper Fast
Jon Merrill
Sam Gagner

Rookies move up & Cozens gets development on second line.

Are you questioning the Penguins Trade?

That pens trade is brutal. Want Jarry? We want the 8th pick in the draft. Otherwise Murray is available. Pens don’t need wing depth. Guentzel, Zucker, McCann, Poulin, Tanev, ZAR, Simon, Kapanen, Rust, Hornqvist, Lafferty. 11 is already overkill. We don’t need a 12th

I think you're overpaying for Gourde here. Haven't heard anything about Asplund but you can probably take him out and it still works.

Oh my. Jarry is far from worth a top 10 pick.

In regards to your trades @edwardtedbrady:

Not enough value at all coming back for a top 4 D. Bad trade for us

Not enough value to nab a good goalie, it'd be Johansson, a B prospect, and a mid round pick at least

Terrible overpayment for a decent player on a bad contract. They would pay us to take him. No way we give em Mitts, Asplund, and 2 picks

1. Murray would have been my assumption but who would have guessed your GM would trade a 1st & prospects for Kap.
2. It's obvious your team is looking for a win now senario. I went with Jarry because Murray got you cups & the whole "stick with what you know" idea.
3. you need more center depth considering sheary & Marleau are UFAs. You have Erod, Angello, Lafferty are RFA's all still needing development. Why wouldn't you add a utility C/LW who is good in PP & PK? You added Kap but lets be honest he a defensive 3rd liner. You add MoJo & you get a playmaking C or Winger for 3rd line & PK time.
4. If you keep everyone on that roster next year I'll be in shock. especially since you need a defensemen bad.

Yeah it’s brutal. A cap dump for the guy that will/should be our starter moving on? I’ll pass

MoJo is not remotely an upgrade on what they already have. The point you’re missing is that Jarry only gets moved for an overpay, I wouldn’t even move Murray for that package

Didn’t say he was worth it, however the pens need cap savings and Jarry will be cheaper than Murray. Jarry was also an all star. Give the pens motivation to keep murray over Jarry.

Well the nhl is a what have you done for me lately business. Lately Jarry is an all star and Murray isn’t. Jarry is going to be cheaper and pens need all the savings they can get in a flat cap world. We don’t have ERod cause we traded him. Lafferty played with the big club this year, hardly needs more development. He is what he is. A bottom 6 forward. Mojo sucks. Putting sprinkles on crap is still crap. He isn’t an upgrade on any center we have (not that Sheary or marleau are centers) and we have 92747382647283648293648286 wingers and 9293747283747284 are left handed. Why would we want another one? Even if you want to say Lafferty needs development. Guentzel, Zucker, McCann, rust, Kap, Hornqvist, ZAR, Simon, Tanev, and Poulin is still overkill already.
