I'm a proponent of still strengthening our top line, despite our depth, with someone who will eventually be moved down but has the ability to play up in the lineup. However, IDK that I'd want to spend 5mil on that player when Kreider is so expensive.
I like the idea because it would take pressure off of the kids if our top line so consistent that it forces opponents to focus shutdown efforts there. I'd prefer someone like Rakell because he's cheaper, has term, and has a history of playing well with Mika. He's also relatively young.
I don't think we should be giving out 4 year, high dollar contracts at the moment without first trying to move assets to get players we want. Laf and Kakko will need to be paid in the near future.
