No thanks, Blues counter with Rielly for kostin, 1st, 6th, 7th. We'd even toss in another 7th to make it happen.

Like it except that last trade is horrendous.

Florida should be giving a 1st if they want to dump Stralman.

Make it Kyrou and I say yes. Sorry that is backfiring on you but cap space is a premium. Leafs go with muzzin Dermott and Sandin in the left and use the two firsts to get a rhd or sign one in ufa and have fun at the draft.,.

Dang it, not now tears of joy I really don't see the point in these Parayko trades without some bigger impact guys like Nylander or Sandin.

Why? So you have no defence at all? Is Faulk and Bort going to hold your right side together?

The trade is Lilly 15OA a 6 and 7 “and” petro for Parayko, do you make that trade?

This is exactly why I make the Rielly trade you mentioned. Because I add petro and possibly Cernak to the deal.

Detroit isn’t sending a 2nd for Johnson, even with you adding a 6th and 7th to him....

At a certain point, value is value. Not taking a package similar to what yall got for Kapanen to trade Parayko, even if it means Petro stays around. 30 teams in the league, most of them could use a Parayko. Armstrong made cap neutral deals for Schenn and ROR, I think he could do the same with Parayko and find a different way to get under the cap (bozak, allen).

How many would send zero cap back? Rebuilding teams don’t want 2 years of Parayko.

Believe me, I completely understand that you don’t like the value. Leafs should add something. But there are 3 really good pieces here. Lilly, the 1st and the cap space.

Leafs and San Jose decline. At least they should. You can move those players but I wouldn’t expect a ton back. (Not talking about CP)

I dunno, a few Sharks fans said they don't mind moving that TBL pick for Perron - it's gonna be pretty late in the round. The Nylander-for-Parayko swap is always interesting since neither team enjoys it, maybe the Bozak-Kerfoot swap tilts it too far.

A few sharks fans are dumb... look at the contracts they have on the books. Does any manager look at that roster and say geee... how can we get older?

San Jose needs picks and youth. Aside from Merkley even their prospect pool is weak.

They probably can't blow things up though, not without moving a ton of guys they just signed with trade protection. I see them trying to compete again tbh.

Yup you’re right. They are doomed... having Perron rather than a first just adds to that.

Wow, its been a while since I have posted on here... If anyone is interested, my thought process was as follows... St. Louis has about 2 million to sign Pietrangelo, Dunn, and Bouwmeester if he is able or willing to return. Something has got to give. I liked Bozak as a Leaf and a Blue, and no offence, but I don't see anyone taking him off their hands at 4 million for 3rd line duties.. So if not Parayko, who goes from the Blues? other teams The Blues are getting older than most teams, they need major Cap relief, picks, prospects, and Parayko is their best trading chip. The Leafs are not trading any one of Matthews, Marner, Reilly, Tavares or Nylander. Detroit needs to add some established younger players and they have picks to spare. As for Stralman, my thinking was that Sandin is the future 3rd pairing Left D, so he may as well get some regular ice time. He needs to play with a quality veteran defenceman, a mentor, who can also play up in the lineup if injuries occur. Is his current salary an over payment? Perhaps, so may Florida retains some or sweetens the deal.

That is an excellent breakdown. I think they would want another pice in that Parayko trade. Maybe even just a 2nd in 2021.

Personally I would target Cernak. Will cost you less in a trade.

Think you could move Lilly and a 3rd or just offersheet him for a 2nd. More term and a similar style to Parayko. Younger as well, but not as good... yet.

Then you take that 1st and draft Schneider.
