Initial Creation Date: Aug. 2, 2020

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
What could they do.

Ottawa needs the cap hits to make the floor, and Ottawa loves Smith. Caggiula will get more ice time, and De Haan gives them a boost on the blue line and a bigger cap hit toward the floor but not for too long. There may be a prospect added as well, just not sure what Ottawa needs.
Toronto gets to unite the Nylander brothers. Hate to give up Murphy bit space is needed, let's hope Seabrook comes back 80% from 2015.
Seen MTL paying a first for Beaudoin, how about 2 seconds?
If more space is desired either in roster positions or Cap space the only remaining players would be Matta and Saad in my opinion. Matta could be bought out or traded maybe for a modeling prospect or a high 3rd low 2nd. Saad as a 1 year rental gets a low 1st high 2nd or equivalent prospect s

Hawks shed Cap and more importantly shed space for the new up an coming players. The loss of some key players hurts a bit but is made up for in averages.

The Ottawa trade is to help Ottawa get to the cap floor as well as open up some space on the Blackhawks roster.

Bringing HOF Hossa back into the fold to officially retire a Hawk, I'm sure there would be other considerations on this deal but this is the main part.

Seabs and Dennis Gilbert as the 2nd line??? That's hysterical!

We don't need LHD at all. If he shot right I'd consider it, but we have a bunch of LHD prospects already. I'd rather use one of those 2nds and the STL 2nd to trade up to get Grans, and then we're able to pick another player in the mid-2nd round.

Why would you say that? They need cap to make the floor, and serviceable players on short contracts. True there maybe a prospect heading to Ottawa as well but I'm just listing the major pieces. Have you seen in the past what they have paid just for Cap hits of LTIR players?

I just rough placed them, if it's 2015 Seabs who shows up at Camp might make sense.

They've never PAID for contracts for example when they traded for Ryan Callahan they upgraded their 6th pick to a 5th
