- I'd LOVE to get Faksa but why would Dallas do that?
- Where is McCann?? Our only younger NHLer than 24yr old player w/ upside?
- I was on the T. Hall would never sign for 1 yr but after looking into it more he mite be better off w/ a 1 yr prove it deal, bc of his injuries the last 2 yrs & not exactly lighting it up either?
- Pateryn is a RHD J. Johnson analytically (actually worse) - altho he had sports hernia surgery, maybe thats why he didn't play good tho?
-TVR is a Right side Dman
- Guentzel & Sid will never be broke up unless 1 is injured.

I hear ya. My thing with the Pens right now is a couple big questions:

1. You acquired Kappy to play in the top six which tells me Hornqvist is not anymore. So do you really keep a $5M player on a third line? I get Hornqvist brings a special aspect to game and I love him as player but dollar wise I just don't think that fits what we need to do anymore.
2. Nick Bjustad, the kid I feel for him cause of all the injuries but I don't think his style fits on our team...I think Derrick Brassard 2.0. Great player just wrong system for whatever reason.

If you can move those two for either cheaper winger or picks you open up $5.5 + $4 which makes the Pens players in free agency. Obviously we may need to take guys back on these trades but it is an interesting situation to be in for GMJR.

I think the Pens need to solve the following positions:

1. LW or RW for 3rd line
2. Third Line Center
3. Revamped 3rd Defensive pairing. Maybe with JJ but if you do than you need to a really good D to pair him with. I still think JJ gets moved in some type of bad contract for bad contract a la Rask in the Kessel deal that got vetoed last year. I think JJ gets moved with Murray (personally).

I think on the third line next year (if he is ready) you will def. see Poulin. Probably on LW. So that would mean a C and RW. I'd be ok signing MCann again (under $2.5M) to play RW so than you only need to find a 3C (one that actually stays on the team for more than x days).

On the Raska comment I agree...I don't know if Dallas truly wants to move him. If that is the case I think the Pens should really make a play on Erik Haula. I have always thought Raska or Haula would fit the Pens mold amazingly well...but you never really know. Another person I like is Zigomus(sp?) from Buffalo. Like the perfect trade for us would be Montour/Zigomus for whoever...it would check box Defense and 3C.

IMO, Girgensons is going to sign here bc we need a physical guy that can also play good, + he actually lives is North Hills of Pittsburgh & trains with a bunch of Penguins every yr.

I LOVE Faksa too - he is the definition of a 3C
I like Haula too but his injuries are a concern but yes i agree he could fit here BUT GMJR just said we need to find a younger 3C like Bones was & who is more of a defensive 3C

I'd also love to get Montour as a 3rd pairing RHD, That would be a big upgrade to #4... I always thought Montour would be better than he's been but he is still kind of young.

Not remotely close to enough to take on Johnson. Riikola is a bottom pairing D at best, and Simon is a third liner, nothing more. Nowhere even anywhere close to worth taking on a bad player and bad contract like that. It starts with a 1st + or involves one of the top guys like Poulin. Just not gonna happen for a bunch of garbage scraps.

I’ve always liked Hörnqvist, but I think Fox for a 33 year old Hörnqvist is a bad swap for the Stars
